hi, can anyone tell me the best way to shell and prepare slipper limpets for fishing please.
see pics below.....
1, lever the shells apart with the back of a knife,
2, run a knife around the shalow part of the shell and under the 'pad',
3, slip the limpet forwards and out carefully,
best leave em a few days before shelling,

Saw an article in TSF about using slipper limpet for bass on Hayling after a storm. That bloke hammered loads of bass out but only after a storm. I suppose i have caught bass and cod on razor clams and caught wrasse and coalies on whelk so i cant see why you wouldn't catch. A few people over here use decaying clam to tip off for the dab to great effect with black lug.
cheers lads, tried them the weekend but no good. i'll wait 'til it's blowing a gale before trying again.
