Hi all

first off i would just like to say im very new at sea fishing ( been once ) and have to say i love it, so really im asking on your suggestions for a rod. im not looking for anything special as im a novice. what i really am looking for is some rod and reel combos or a full kit i could buy online from anywhere, if you could name some please do. also im from leeds and have been going to withernsea to sea fish though does anyone recommend anywhere closer that is good?

any other things you may think will be useful would be great.

Thanks
Steve

the shop i work in is doing a 12ft beach rod, fixed spool reel, 2 rigs and 2 leads for £35. there is also a combo with a multi for a little extra wonga.

the boss could prob post to you if needed (i would guess at around £10- £15 p&p)

let me know if you want more details or an exact price.

Im new at fishing myself, been 3 times with my dad, but picked up a great rod and reel for less than £20 in Whitby, caught a few things on them, and got some advice in the shop, if you want to find it, its just opposite a goth shop, and its called Whitby Angling Supplies.

Have a look at:

http://www.mikestackleshop.com//mikes-beach-p-13094.html?osCsid=6c907ad4a0dca010fd6748a2d82017a7

or
http://www.fishingmegastore.com/acatalog/Ron_Thompson_Zensorflex_Outfits.html

or
https://www.veals.co.uk/acatalog/___Economy_Combos.html

(of them all I would reccomend Penn combo's from Veals rather than the Ron Thompson ones - if you think you will still be fishing in a year or so).

The RT stuff is cheap as chips but will be broken in ~12 months - you could then decide if you want fancy expensive rods or not. The penn stuff will probably last a little longer with care and maybe more helpful to you if you plan to seriously beach cast

There are plenty more tackle shops offering similar online and all will post to you for about a fiver. If you can get into a shop somewhere first and have a good look at the gear and talk to the staff.

Sorry shoulda pointed out that may depend on your type of fishing but for any occassion/location a stout 12ft beach rod (able to cast 5oz) and fixed spool reel holding generous amount of 20-30lb line will serve you well
