Thought it might help if we had a thread for tracking of mackeral, I know they tend to move down the east coast, and any signs of any significant catches could be noted here for everyones information.

Going out of Cranfield on Monday afternoon so will be able to give an update then but by all accounts they are still around the Down coast in large numbers.

Mackerel have been jumping into the boat (literally) for the past few weeks out of ardglass, getting down through them is the new problem!!

Hi MarieK
Same problem ?? down here in Wicklow loads of mackerel for the past month at least. Trying to get down through them for other species is not easy but not complaining always handy bait for LSD, bullhuss etc.

dont really think theres a need to track them
as soon as summer hits the coast is full of them
some places maybe more than others but generaly if your near open water you'll find mackeral :D
