Both are casting rigs, bait hooks and place bend of hook under the clip, with the double place the bottom hook under clip then the top hook and let the weight maintain a tight line after doing so, i.e. don't let the weight touch the ground after placing hooks on the clips. The system allows you to cast further without bits flapping around and causing air resistance, and you are far less likely to loose bits of bait. When the weight impacts the water the hooks will fall free.
