hello all
been asked as the south/east cap to find out if the south form members would like to have a fun 2 way fishing comp .
have also been asked if it could be a night fish because of the time of year .
so come on lads you lot up for a laugh , a few cold beers (FOSTERS) , and may be a couple of fish .
was think that we could all put a couple of quid in a kitty and the winning team has the money for a charity of there choice .
the donation will not be compolsery but it would be nice . i do not want to do what we did over this side and turn it in to a full comp because of the trouble it causes but for a good laugh and a chance to meet more of the lads from the forums .

lol !! yeah, i'll be up for it ! where are you thinking of fishing ?
and yeah, defo a night fish, much more productive,
Well ive been to all the others so ill be there for this one as well.
Lads, its a good laugh and people can put names to faces. In the two meets we have had, the first at dungeness and then the second at Felixstowe i think we managed to raise nearly £1000 for charity {RNLI and Stroke foundation}
Its a good craic and it could be something BIG, as the last 2 meets we had about 15-20 people on each meet.

brighton marina i think as i said earlyer on the phone fishy rob can book us up the whole east arm for the meet and there should be some smoothys around then to,
i cant do the 17th of june though, end of june whould be preferd for this meet,
i know the se team will be holding dungie as there home venue,
and i know nukem@ll fancies chesil for us, but brighton will be much more central for us all

just had a right laugh reading back through this thread. i don't think this was the biggest though, sure we had 19 on one in the bay ?
dungie and the marina sound good to me, could easily do it on a similar basis to the way we worked it out on the meet in the thread above, ie average number of fish per angler,
i don't go in for this length only thing, i know it's only fun, but it means a 1lb eel of 50cm could beat a 4lb bass of 48cm !
should be fun whatever, i'll put up some tip tape for the captors of the biggest flat, biggest round, most fish, and most species, if ya like, i'm quite happy to run a pool too !

sat 30th would be ok for me, not a big tide though, just a 6.4 in eastbourne, midnight high, be less in brighton i think. i got a catch n release match with the club though, will have to see what times that is, i think it's a day match but not sure yet,
saturday 2nd is about the only other i can do, marginally bigger 6.6 with another midnight high water.
does it have to be a saturday ? friday would free up the 15th june, better tide and again around a midnight high.
thoughts ?

Although I see your point for heaviest fish beating the largest fish, e.g I won biggest fish at Dungie with a 60cm doggie which was no where near as heavy as Slayers codling. However some people including myself do not want a weigh in at the end as lots of small dabs and rockling made up the fish count.
If we had all fish to be measured and any decent fish are then weighed as well as measured, everybody would be happy and there would be a truer picture of biggest fish.

no need to worry about keeping fish, unless for the table! a fish can be measured, and using a easy reference match chart, be awarded point for it's length, each species has different tallies, simple really, and no fish need to be kept, i know it's a bit of fun, but i don't see any harm in having a bit of competition for those who want to,
i really don't mind !
I'm up for it assuming the dates are okay for me. Not too fussed about venues though if Fishyrob could book us the entire Marina east arm that sounds quite interesting for the south one. This will presumably be part of the planned programme of inter forum meets/friendly comps?
Agree that points to length is much better than length alone.

I'm interested so long as it doesn't clash with me summer hols (first 2 weeks in July!) - how many can fish one arm of Brighton Marina? Give me enough notice to grow a 'tache and order a leather cap though!!

I'm always up for a meet as they are a great day out and usually a fish or two shows up to keep spirits high!

No this one is separate from those south forum inter county frendlys
This one will be the whole south forum fishing as one team vs the whole south east forum fishing as one team also.
Nukem@ll and alan t said after the essex vs kent match that the two teams would now merge and take on the south forum,
whopper can be, er, the copper,
Andy can do it, hes the old bill as well! LOL. Oh and those leather strides dont half chafe me legs !

I have got an agreement in principle that we can have half the East arm. With two people fishing in each bay, thats still seventy anglers. Biggest poblem, 1st half or s2nd half....... Both have their pluses, and both have their minuses. Personally, I would pick decent sized tides and take the inshore half!!

Simple answer to that mate. If we end up with that many then draw the teams out of a hat to decide where we fish on the day.

No worries dude. If I was tying so many rigs non-stop, I would have lost the plot too. Looking fowad to seeing you in the morning. I am off to Canvey Island now to re-rape all the crab beds, will drive down about three a.m. , probably be to Bexi about 6. I hope that there are enough hounds for all my crabs......
