You were too impatient for a reply and loaded the spool with-out a knot...Is it safe ?? It is fully loaded and i started from the middle.....:ohnoes: :g: :nono:

It will be safe. You will be unlikely to be able to cast the whole spool out!

Try searching "arbor knot" it's a much easier way of doing it.

This works well on hooks and swivels too except in that case the overhand knot is done over the eye. Expect 100% with many lines. Wet it well and pull the knot in the line very tight and leave a small stub. It's quick and foolproof with minimal practice.

Seems OK until you have a crack off mid session the hook into the fish of a lifetime, shore tope do occur !

1 in a million chance I appreciate, but better than nothing is to tape it on with insulation tape. but the arbour knot is easy and best IMHO.

If you have a second fixed spool, wind from one to the other and back to respool it.
