ok lads,
is there anyone that is up for the challenge?? i will be fishing the east arm with Bally and Andy Atkins. is anyone else thinking on fishing the marina??

depending on when your thinking of going, i may just go to shoreham arm and stay the whole night.... make it an adventure!!! (or not!!! lol)

The reason we keep it quiet until the evening is purely as a safety thing for anglers involved.
Unfortunately it is not only anglers that monitor this site.

In all honesty tho this secrecy thing is done for a couple of reasons ....first and foremost it is for anglers safety not just antis but also any others that might be lurking around (drug addicts burglars etc maybe looking to make a quick bob or two) far fetched it may seem OTT it might be but i only want to report good stuff not bad. In particular there are younger and slightly more naive anglers amongst us including Jamie who need this extra protection, street cred he may have, invincibility, blessed with, but a scar whether physical or mental is for life. so this is one of the reasons i try to keep things as tight lipped as possible through pm and also it helps me team everyone up for safety if they prefer. this is not an enforced rule but something maybe just maybe worth considering.and as i always stress, i only reveal your location with your permission.
Other reasons for not being to obvious to begin with about your locations is that it does add a little spice to the evening and keeps people guessing until they maybe do find out venues,but if guys want to divulge themselves where they are fishing i have absolutely no problem with this you are free to fish wherever you like, it is your evening out angling with just a few nagging phone calls from an old fart sitting in the warm with a large glass of noggin.But consider this that small contribution from you all makes for a thousand hits on the web site and a few pennies for a deserving charity.
Only other reason for keeping things a little secret is that it helps me coordinate the guys i.e. one guy has already kindly offered to fish a certain location and it would be useful (maybe) to them that others will be arriving during the evening don't know why just seems sensible:unsure:
Thats it really, worth some consideration i hope BUT most of all i would like all the anglers taking part on Friday night(and there are dozens of you) to enjoy themselves and catch.....

JD - I'm fishing with CP this Friday night at a "secret" mark.
I might drop down in the morning to fish the early hours but that is a very big maybe as HT is 1:30am.

having stopped and thought about this i might pull out on this one early as i am working most of the day and i don't fancy the drive down considering a bank holiday weekend meaning the roads are going to be gridlocked and everyone going coast bound because of the weather! sorry JD!
I shall be fishing the marina on Friday daytime (new baby prevents all night sessions!). Anyway, if any of the SAS make themselves known to me on the West Arm (lower pegs) before I leave at 5.30 p.m., I'll let you know how it's fishing and give you my remaining bait.
Fishyrob has stated there are squids about so don't forget your squidjigs. Also as a quick tip, :secret: look at the weather forecast before you go as presently it is forecast to be a NE or Easterly wind and JD's post stated you were going on the East Arm. If it is NE or East, it can get a bit nippy on the East Arm so pack some warm clothes!

I'm starting to get confused now....!! Ok, for the benefits of anyone that wants to break into a clapped out White mondeo estate, which once they get into will realise that the most valuable thing is a rusty car jack, and that the car smells of fish, I will be fishing the marina Friday night, all for charity, mate...... Anyone wants to join in, make sure you have squid jigs, and PM me so as we can be sociable (I CAN be sociable, honest..........) Oh, and if anyone has a decent camera the want to bring along. Mine is sadly in the camera hospital on life support, and it is touch and go if it will recover.....:sad2:

west arm. I'm meeting fishy down there at around 6:30-7pm, he's aiming to get there for 6pm.
If your serious about the bait question I am going to ring the tackle shops on the arm and ask themif they can drop some bait down as I have no fresh bait. Let me know in the next hour and I'll ring them.

Hi Guys. Sorry to mess about, but with the wind blowing NNW all morning, I reckon we will be on the EAST arm, as it will give us about 4 x the quality of the west. I am gambling that we will have had squid, mackerel, garfish, and pollock by darkness, and then we will be hoping for bass, sole, flounder, eel, and the chance of hound, plus all the odd stuff that might turn up. Might nip off and get some prawn as the tide drops away, will see how I feel, as I am in Essex just now, having lifted half of canvey island in pursuit of crabs. Them fishies are in serious trouble tonight.......!! Tom, sorry to lumber the long walk on you, and throw in an extra jumper, but the fishing will be better than on the short arm. If the wind has swung Easterly by this evening, then back to plan A! I am also looking to get there earlier than 18:900,. I am going to sack off the speeding awareness course, because I would have to drive very fast afterwards to get to Brighton for the Fishathon. I'm hoping Whopper or Andy's Colmer or Atkins will square it all for me.............

And guys, dont you remember being 15. Beer and chances of women are bound to be more attractive than cold beaches, especially when you are catching as much as Jamie. Even I chased women for a couple of months when I was that age. Then the cod season began..........

My thoughts entirely, small Pollock or Wrasse down the side should do the trick!
£6's worth should do me for the night and next morning - thanks very much FR. I'll bell you when I get down to the Marina and hopefully it won't be too busy on the Easy arm lower pegs.

Oh dear, more brutal dissapointment for you. When I was chatting about the lower pegs, I hadnt realised the tide. Its the VERY long walk for you sir, I am afraid to say...... Around the start of the rocks!

Just for a moment there I thought you were hinting at livebaiting with a 3-5lb squid! Might catch a seal or a porpoise with that - but since neither are fish you still wouldn't win your own prize!
