Hi, just wondered what is best when using frozen mack fillets. is it better to defrost them of use straight from freezer?..

simply - either.
if your using small chunks then they will defrost in the water, but defrosting before makes it easier to get on the hook
i hate whiting

doesnt affect the fish, just defrosted is easier to use/put on the hook. :)
defrost but keep out of the sun. i keep all my frozen bait in a cool bag and just take what i need out 15 mins before i need it.

although defrosted is easier to put on the hook, it is also easier to fly off the hook if casting. If casting (and not using a clipped-down rig or something like a "Dvice") then put on frozen - they will thaw very quickly indeed after splashdown.
one word(s), coolbag or icebox..... i tend to stick in a £1 bag of ice, carry your lunch, few beers, use it for bait etc etc...just throw everything back in to take home
