How about WSF Ireland meets up for a days fishing?
Im not sure how many of you are boaters but for the first time it would probably be easiest to fish a shore mark. Any thoughts suggestions fire them through!
And of course takers!

OK this is starting off well --- one from County Down, one from Co Mayo, A french man living in Greece going to visit Ireland and now myself a Dub living in Co Wicklow might be hard to organise where to fish. But hey I'm on for fishing anytime, anywhere if I can make it.
Come on there must be more out there interested in this!!!

must have been on the curry :D  :D
im up for a fish in, i think the best way to do it is to put up a date then if anyone wants to go on that date fine, rather than asking everyone when suits them then trying to please everyone. just a thought
ps im from belfast but ive a car and a boat and can travel. i hope we can get something started :)
Ok
Available any weekend in October as September already full, also have transport no boat yet, and dont care where I fish.

Hi :
See you' re from Galway and wonder where abouts you fish and what sort of species you come across? . Have been fishing the inner bay for a while and not finding much variety. Think the idea of a get-together is a good one.

I'm well up for this.
I am based in Glengormley (near Belfast) and I would be well up for a meet.
Antrim coast, Down coast, Carlingford or Louth are all within easy reach. Donegal bay might also be a considerarion to accomodate our West of Ireland friends.
Alternatively how about two separate meets? - East of Ireland and West of Ireland - even turn it into an East vs West Battle (I don't want to be Reagan!!!).
I also agree with last posters comments - suggest a date and then people can decide to attend.
October is good for me.
GG
Ok well I am a boat fishing man so im not too hot on the shore marks, East/West or dare I say it North Vs South might be best to accomodate everyone.
If one of you shore boys setup a poll for location and we could vote it might be easiest way to settle it, then we pick a date.

OK,
MarieK, Fergal, Glengormley-Gavin,
Because we are all on the East coast and without being too pushy MarieK you have the boat, before we run out of time for a boat trip why dont we arrange a boat trip in October some weekend and after that we travel west to join the other two lads on a beach of their choice.
Let us know what U think.

Gulp!!!!!
that's up to MarieK but I don't want to impose also I have no gear for boat fishing. Still prefer a shore mark.

Its been a bad year in the bay, for me anyway. I believe the red tide that hit Galway first in June is to blame. I had great tope fishing last June/July 12 months. This year I tried at least 4/5 times in the same areas....not a pull!!!!. I also put some time into catching a bass to no avail. Still its good to see the bay so clean

:) Great to hear of tope being caught in Galway bay even if it is a year ago! Without giving too much away give us a clue where you had success. I have tried around the briceens and near the leveret with just the odd pull and missing bait to show for it also used to catch aran bream a few years ago but haven't seen any this year. TIGHT LINES!
Sorry boys just noticed this!!
An outing on my boat is no problem, I can offer (hopefully) a bash at some decent pollock, wrecking for wrasse, conger, codling and a few specialities. Boat can fish 3-4 comfortably enough, now next problem is the weather. Ill keep a keen eye on the long range forecast and let you know as soon as I see a possible opening. It will probably have to be a weekend as I am working in London during the week.
Ill get my **** in gear though and let you guys know.
Maybe if one of the other guys around Strangford Lough could join us in boats we could have more numbers. Fish around the mouth of the lough.
Sorry about the slow pickup!
MarieK
id gladly take a couple out on my boat but its only a 15ft boat with a 6hp engine and just wouldn't be safe any distance offshore or in strong tides. keep me in mind though if any of you are heading out

Alright guys,
I could guarantee you at least two people and we would be more than willing to donate some funds for the trip towards fuel and grub etc...
Keep me informed....

Hi MarieK,
It was my cheeky suggestion in the first place and as GG said

 Did not look that rough until I was in the middle, my 5 horse honda and my 12 foot row boat were at full blip and made it through with the help of the tide.
cought small cod and pollock no mac. IM GONNA NEED A BIGGER BOAT
LOOKING TO BUY BOAT 17-20ft WITH ENGINE 25hp up...let me know...TOM.
Went out on Sunday to do a trial run of our east coast meet - dont want to be getting you boys out and no fish to catch! Good news is we had a brilliant days fishing - I got hold of some King rag and they were deadly! Mainly wrasse and pollock 1 decent wrasse between 4-5 and pollock to about 9 (probably 8), this bodes well and should get better as autumn comes in. Still plenty of Mack around for bait, if we get a good forecast and tide combo we could get a few hours in after the late Tope - few of the guys in other boats had a run or two on Sunday so they are still about. Chances are we will be mainly wrecking at the mouth of Strangford Lough.
Bad news is I have got a long range forecast and unless things change dramatically this weekend is out.
Other issue is numbers - plenty of people want to come but so far im the only definite boat - ill try and convince a few non wsf mates to join us. I shall keep you updated.
MarieK
hi. when are you guys talking about doing this trip? if itsa sunday i would contemplate this myself, i have a boat but no tow bar, so will need to get my mate interested as well, also wher do you launch from?
