Hi guys, was thinking of a holiday in the maldives this year but after the info i received that shore fishing is illegal please someone tell me that it is allowed in mauritius.

Yes mate you'll be OK in Mauritius,I know a guy who lives there and he is a fishing nut!

Most of the fishing is offshore, but they also focus inshore over the reefs for some very big Giant Trevally - GTs. There is a guide though who specialises in shore fishing. You might want to spend a day or two with him initially just to get a feel for the fishing.

With a guide the fishing is likely to be superb, however don't expect the numbers or beauty of the fish to be the same as the Maldives.
The locations are very different.

Invest in a guide and have the time of your life.
