started early from south benfleet (3.30am!) onboard dawn breaker, finished steaming about an hour and a half later and the sun began to show, flat calm and warm.it was looking good.We fished a wreck in the ouse not too far from the first set of towers. we fished all of the ebb and managed prob about 35 whiting not great sizes 3 sizable bass and about twenty dogfish (some of which were quite big up to two and a half pound!!) at low tide we moved to a sand bank and shallowed off but did not fair too well i only had one bite (another whiting) and the rest of the boat scratched around we had 2 soles (small) a codling!!!! and a couple more dogs...just as they day was drawing to a close my friend steve caught a bass a bit beter about three pounds.Just goes to show you cant have every thing ...the weather was scorching all day no wind but no desent fish .Most of us fished two rods wit one out withe either whole squid or fillets for the biggies but to know avail!! most of the fish we caught fell to rag worm.
..Anyway out again next wendsday...heres hoping!!!
Scott.
it,s ok on robbies boat but the bleedin tea is horrid and sometimes the fish must hear him coming as they all seem to run and hide!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scott, i go out from canvey and fit in a trip a week weather permitting. you have left it a little late as we have been catching a shed load of Bass up until about two weeks ago, the roker fishing in may - june was just too easy and i can honestly say we were pulling up the anchor to try and get away from them :D
Regards Ryan. :D

yeah i had some graet days with the roker and bass and smoothies but ive not done so well this year with the bass, but gotta say ryan i normally find the bigger fish around sept and sometimes if its warm into october.. i used to go out from canvey many years ago on siters and catfish with steve davis.always did well with the cod,but not in the summer as he never went that far down river so changed to dawnbreaker.i normally go every month..love it!!!
As the skipper always tells you, you should have been with us yesterday fish up to the gunalls. couldnot go wrong.
