i would like to suggest that the team extreme east sussex meet, is either 28th july or 11th aug, and a night meet, eve til morning, sat 11th is the better tide,

i'll need to see how i get on with organising the dover trip though, as it'll be either 27th july or 10th aug, it'd be a bit much to have the team extreme meet the night after dover !

is this clashing with anything ?

not sure if it clashed with other meets but it doesn't clash with my holiday so gets my vote!

Both dates currently fine by me, Hugh, but ideally not the day after the Dover meet.

ok, i think we'll aim to do dover on one weekend and our meet a fortnight later then ? where we gonna fish then ? pevensey or possibly somewhere else ? maybe the marina ?

I'm easy on the venue. How is Pevensey likely to be fishing then? I always think of the Bay as a cold weather venue but that's probably mainly because that's when I've fished it! Maybe Fishyrob could book the marina for us if the final date is okay with HHAC, SAS and DAB - though I know he was floating the idea of booking the marine for the South / South East meet later on in August...

Trying to get these dates fixed is like trying to herd cats - whch is why I've been notably quiet on the meet organising front this year compared to last!

lol ! i think sometimes it's just best to say a date and see who turns up, otherwise things take forever to get sorted and someone who wasn't upset before, will be when the date changes and they cant go !

jamie, wait and see about dover, it's normally over 18's only out there, due to insurance, with a club it's 16, but... the clubs might have other insurance, i'll see whats what when it's booked.

now the dover trip is booked, i've suggested on the kent forum, that we perhaps hold the south vs south east meet at brighton on the 11th august, i'm sure we can find another date for us lot to do our meet,

25th august ? anyone ?

Guys, no problem with getting a section of the long arm, just need to get an idea on numbers. And here's a thought. Marina, with Pevensey as a back up venue, cos if its snotty and the marina is closed, the weather will be good for Pevensey, and if its calm and clear, I should imagine that the marina will fish better.

Mark, you need a cat-dog silly. They are much better at herding cats than you will ever be. When the Welsh hill farmers first saw a cat-dog at work, they were so impressed they bought a load and taught them to round up sheep! Not a lot of people know that........

Can't do 25 August - I'm in Ireland. Not back until 1 September. There's now a meet on 27 July plus another on 11 August (if the SE boys agree) and the SAS one being 29 Sept. It might be better to push the inter county jobbie back to late October/ early Nov - no chance of blanking then as there'll be whiting, dabs and flounders galore plus bass and codling. If the SE lads don't fancy 11 August then suggest we keep the TE inter county meet as 11 August on the long arm at Brighton?

Was thinking of trying for a repeat of last year's very successful July meet on the Marina (the one with Geffaz' heroic beer run and Andy A's smoothhound) but will wait a fortnight for all these other meets to finalise before adding to the confusion!

Rob, MArk,

sounds good to me, if the south forum don't take the 11th for the brighton trip (they're silly if not !) then we'll have it for our inter county thing, if they do, we'll aim later as you suggest,

so much to fish, so little time !
