Boat meet from Burnham marina all welcome

It seems we now have a date for the boat meet from Burnham which will be on Sunday 5th AUG High water is at 5.36 am so if we meet between 6.30 and 7.00am we will have the tide behind us for the trip out of the river .

Launch at Burnham yacht harbour and if the harbour master wants to charge you tell him to FO and put it down to island hopper, Ron wont mind.:kissing:
Turn left out of marina the river bound authorities don’t venture far that way, turn right and you will be pestered by them, if they ask why you haven’t got a river licence tell them you are a visitor from up north. Don’t speed in the mooring as they like to give you a b0llocking again tell them to FO.

Once we know how many boats will need to be launched I will try to do a deal with the Marina (I like a deal!) Im sure we can get the charges down a bit.

I dont mind paying a slipway fee as that is expected, but £60.00 or whatever it is for a river liscence or whatever the price is a bit much for a days fishing. If a deal can be struck then brilliant, otherwise any boat travelling to this venue may get stung with a big bill.
Launching without a liscence may not be allowed either so I think this may need to be looked into before myself or any other trailered boat can commit to particiipate in this meet. I hope something can be arranged cos I think this is a brilliant idea that could lead to many similar events in the future.

Just bring your boats and leave the rest to me.

There are 1000s of visiting boats from around the UK and Europe that use the crouch and they don’t need the licence so if you’re a 1 day visitor you don’t need 1

I spoke to the outfit about my boat engine, it appears that it may be ready, it may not be, by next weekend,

If it's not ready, my proposed plan of taking part in the boat meet in August will go down the tubes, I'm away for a week from 21st of July, which leaves my 7 days to get at least 2 trips out with her before the meet, i'm not going to be able to get them in though, as i'm about to start a re-pointing job in Bradwell.

Whilst disappointed myself in the possibility of missing the meet, i'm more concerned that having said i'd take Issy with me, he's now going to miss the event too, is there a space on another boat available to get the old fella afloat, should Bluebird not be ready in time.

Seriously, I am dissapointed at not being able to go on your boat for the meet, I was looking forward to it, but, maybe it is for the good as you will know the motor will be in tip top condition when you get it back and there will be plenty more chances to go out. I think there are some spare places on other boats so we should be OK, If not I will find the nearest beach to the meet and try some distance casting :g::fishing:

Being as the response to the meet seems to have died a slow death we will be now be meeting at burnham marina at 4.45am and leaving at 5 sharp
I will now be fishing from Ron boat Island Hopper so any body that is still interested in joining the meet and arrive a little later or leave from another marina give us a shout on Chanel 8. we will be docking back at the marina at 5 pm for drinks in the bar .
