You shouldn't need much more than 10 oz Paul, there aint that much of a tide in the place, we normally fish it with 6oz when fishing Laga Bay

Just been in contact with the company with the jedi gear to order stuff for selwyn but they say they send the badges away for edging and need a minimum order so I'll give him one of my badges. Think by the sounds of it should have it by the time of the Boat meet( not confirmed though). Will sort out leads next week just before we go cos I'm off for a couple of days. Might mange a few weights I'm sure.

Hiya,

No idea what rigs to use but I'm sure we'll find out as we go.

just the same as Etive only make sure you use light wire or at least 120lb mono hook lengths, there is still the odd very big Spur kicking about the loch

I've never managed to get any mackies in the loch myself but to be fair I've not really tried. I usualy stop off on the way round from LA and catch them at the start of the Sound.

Andy Jackson will give you advice where best to catch mackerel - you can get them close to Laga

Good luck guy's, I hope the Spurries come out for you !!! Another thing to remember is you can't get a mobile signal at all on the road to Andy's house. I don't know if any of you have tried this but our club usually does a couple of trips a year up on the big boat with Andy and we stay in his lodge the Sat night we get a massive full english brekkie made for us on the Sunday morning and wander down to the jetty for 8.30am its Brilliant :)
If you are finding the fishing slow just tie up to one of the bhoys only 100yds from his house, Earlier this year we stopped there for 20mins before we came in and had about 80 dog's between 4 of us, " Area 51" is worth a shot also :secret:
Have a good one !:)

So the day is finally here...just about!!! I've got my gear ready and filled the motor and my belly. Looking forward to a lovely day out. will be up there bright and early but was thinking that if there is a ferry queue early bells it may be wise just to cross over as soon as we can and meet at the first stopping area at the other side? I'm coming wi' Ryan and we'll hang about a bit but if it's getting at all late-ish then we'll be over the other side.
See you guys then...gino...p.s got the tripod but haven't a clue who to give it to!! Guyfella gave me some good advice too. :secret: :boat:
