I've book this boat for 6th jan next year, it looked about the best tide out of the dates which was left. We will be fishing offshore wrecks for pollack, hopefully a few biggies aswell. The cost is £45 per person, i will need full payment before we go, with a £20 deposit a.s.a.p.
Transport down can be sorted out once all the places are filled and we know whos going from where.

P.M me if you want to go and i can give you details on how to pay the deposit.

All spaces gone!!!

I will also try and get a midweek date on one of the smaller neap tides in oct/nov this year to go out after some big slimey snakes:yeah: If anyone is interested in a midweek trip let me know:)

Names so far.

All spaces taken now for this one. But as there was 14 who put thier names down the other 4 can get first refusal on the conger trip, when dates are set, also if anyone drops out then obviously will be in line to fill the space.

The game plan, I will be travelling down to Bournemouth a couple of days earlier returning mother inlaw after Christmas visit. After the session I will return to her place and travel back the next day.

I worked this one out because Debs does not want me on the go from 3am to late evening and in truth she is quite right.

I am not worried mate a couple of extra pounds isn't an issue, plus I am going down and staying with the mother inlaw, so it is easy for me.

What about Roger travelling down now Paid4 has dropped out?

The extra charter costs is not a problem but as Ken has said I am now the only one coming from west so I would need to pickup at least three or transfer cars somewhere and share with someone else. Any suggestions?

Just been advised of this sad news:

Best wishes to Colin Penny
Posted by Dave on Sat Dec 8 13:04:41 2007

For those who do not know, Colin was taken into hospital on Thursday.

I am sure we all wish him a speedy recovery.

Dave

He is one of the best skippers and loves his fishing hope he has a speedy recovery.

Update: It appears Colin has had a heart attack and remains in hospital, all very sad.

I have heard he is still in hospital awaiting test.

Bottom line Kev, they won't let him skipper a boat on his own until they have sorted him and he is fit. Unless he has someone with a 60 mile cert to take his place that boat will not leave harbour.

I will try and get an update tonight mate.

Just had this info:

On the deepsea site Ken, Andy Selby suggests phoning the shop for an update of the trips 01305 777771, if you like i don't mind speaking to Paul whittall. however i'm sure one of the other skippers or the shop would sort out a trip for your crew if Colin is still busy with the nurses.

He is out of hospital, looks as if reading the last report he has had some form of op, wording to the effect " I can only do a little bit each day" was reported, seems very much like my self when I first came out . If that is correct and he has no one else to skipper for him I would think it is 100% off. Will try to find out.

I've spoke to colin and he said we can either re-arrange the trip for a later date,or he can try and get another skipper to run his boat.
My only concern with having another skipper is if he is a young skipper and doesnt really know the ropes or the boat too well, what sort of trip would it be?? Colin is a good skipper and obviously knows his marks/wrecks and his boat very well. I myself would prefer to re-arrange for a date later in the year when hes back to 100% and can take us out himself, but its up to everyone else?? What do you guys think??

This isn't putting any other skippers down but I booked with this trip because Colin has an excellent track record and it was a great opportunity to fish with him again. :clap2: I would like to wait until he's up to speed himself but will go with the majority.

PS Did you find out exactly what happened to the old fart?:clap2:

I think you and Ken are correct on this one. It is a hell of a trip to end up with a duff skipper so I make that three in favor of putting it off until a latter date.
