I have to fish a match at Gravesend in November. Afternoon into darkness. Any tips on bait / rigs. Where should I go and what are the best methods. :D

Bait has to be Rag & Lug .

Rigs 2 hook flapper close in for Flounder and Schoolies, or clip down for Codling at distance:)
Good luck :D

Comps in gravesend are usually fished at the sea school stretch of
the seawall which is now the police training college but still
known as the sea school college by locals.
Head for the ship and lobster pub at denton wharf but couldnt say
about patron parking etc:

Yeah the people in the pub are a bit funny about anglers parking in the car park, they expect you to buy a pint! (shouldn't trouble you too much!)

When fishing the **** and lobit (ship and lobster) stretch in november be prepared for siucidal whiting and i mean suicidal three hook sctratching rig close in. Be prepared for the odd bonus Cod, bass or just about anything. so reasonable snoods. but sit back and watch those whiting eat yer ooks.

I am not surprised i have fished this the Gravesend foreshore for many years and whiting seem ever present but come the autumn and winter they arrive en masse. Though be warned night fishing there are some cheeky foxes that would steal bait, fish out of your pocket if your not carefull. a good fun venue though the best marks are a bit of a walk.

Spent Wednesday at Dover`s Admiralty Pier, what a waste of time!!!!
The only people that are winners are the local tackle shops and the DSAC,Iwill explain, first you pay money for bait and tackle, then parking fees and then the entrance money to fish.
At the end of the day, after adding six sets of tackle to the ever increasing tackle graveyard.
One small pouting was the paltry return for the pleasurable experience.
Then it was a trundle back to the tackle dealer to replace lost gear.
I seem to remember that in the past, that such a problem was remedied by a boat trawling some sort of device to clear the rubbish.
If something is not done soon, then anglers will not frequent the pier resulting in the DSAC loosing revenue.

From the dab corner to the turret, plenty of snags from 20 to 50yards out.
On the Extention upto the first Gate snags not as bad.Past the gate, unknown terriority.

Yep, parking fees and the long pier walk put me off, plus the tackle graveyard. Dover tackle shops are not cheap either. Went to Seasalter near Whitstable instead. Parking free, short walk, lost no tackle. No fish unfortunately.

If I didn't have bad luck fishin' I wouldn't have any luck at all.
