DIRECTIONS TO THE MEET

When you come off the swing bridge turn left come along past the copthorn hotel turn left onto skinnerburn road come all the way along the road to the junction turn left onto monarch road you then want to take your next left onto amethyst road we will be fishing right along as far as you can go there will be ample enough parking with it being a sunday.

Pencil my name down, can't say for definate though now but can't see no reason why i can not make it. Is it ok to bring one or perhaps two other people along? i may also be looking for a supply of peeler nearer the time too. Could you possibly get some street names or postcodes aswell when you decide on the venue so i can check it out on Google earth or try and find directions with Promap or AA route planner?

ive changed the times of the fishing due to the possibility of the amount of water to be at the mark at the time of fishing

good spot the business park fished a few times when my daughters been at the arena anyone near durham and need a lift give me a shout i'll only be using maccy,squid and rag as i can't afford crab even try earthworms as they have worked for me before looking forward to it

forget squid. trust me i have fished loads of matches here and if you cant get crab then rag tipped with small bits of mackerel will get you plenty of fish.

the serious anglers fishing comps wouldnt dream of turning up without rag and mackerel, myself included.

earthworms can get the eels if there has been serious rain a few days before. a recent comp on the wear proved this recently. but dont rely on it.

a few ounces of rag will all you,ll need.

Been up to Newcastle today for a meeting, lots of people fishing the Copthorne over low water. My old man who works in Newcastle says there have been quite a few up there all week. Word is that there are good bags of eels and decent flatties been taken up there at the moment. Will give it a try on Sunday and report back if it is anygood.

afternoon rigs are simple 2 hook flappers with size 2 or 1 hooks

Ive Now Put Directions Up On The First Page To Where We Are Going To Fish See You's All There

i have fished this venue many times in league matches and will be very suprised if everyone doesnt catch something.

the only baits to bring will be .. crab, rag and mackerel. either one on there own should catch something but crab will give the edge, fresh or frozen.

you can use a big rod casting into the main channel with a 6oz grip but will still travel. this could be your first option untill the tide gets right in.

once the tide is well in switch to lighter rods and i prefer fixed spool reels with braid.

you will be casting leads from 1-3oz depending on the pull. casting from down the side to 50yds will give plenty of flounders over the mud.

an option is to use 2 rods. one in the channel and one on the flats.

As the orginiser of this meet, unfortunatly due to a family matter i wont be attending i will ring dave (jarrow viking) and let him know hes at scotland at the moment but due to return on friday.......i will try and come along and just show my face and see a few peeps if i can and wont be on the forum much over the next few days...........sorry guys but family comes first.
