Hmm, another Hearts fan perhaps!? Was like Custers last stand in a Glasgow pub last saturday! :D :D :D Mustn't grumble though.

Anyway enough about football – hope to need some info next summer as I should be over that way.

Welcome aboard

Hello, i'm coming to Jersey this weekend, staying next to Corbiere lighthouse, hows the bass fishing at the moment there? I'm bringing plugging gear and beachcaster, can you let me know what the best baits for legering are? (macky, squid etc)

Cheers

HI Bass Hunter :
jambojersey here Good luck on your trip, the best bait for ledgering in Jersey is White Cat to be found on the left of the causeway going out to Elizabeth Castle.Sometimes in the market and green street fishing tackle shops,(both very good for the spot of the day fishing chat)ask about the Reclamation site fishing both guy's are very knowledgeable.
A small plug is more deadlier though the one with the small ball bearings in it's a killer on the low tides at the North of the Island or on the West Coast, best ledgering is also White Cat on West Coast by the little white building near the Water Splash. Belcrout bay fishes good on the high tides with lug from the lug beds in Belcrout bay also their are lots of red cat to be had from Belcrout bay on the rocks you need a strong screwdriver to open the cracks though ."Southwest " Portlet & Quaisne good for ballan-wrasse on limpets they give a fast tug got to be ready at all times Be careful the tide comes in two inches a minute in Jersey.Hour before hour after best times on the high.Squid ok for St Catherines breakwater .
