HI all,
getting plenty of requests to host another meeting on the breakwater, I'm happy to do it, but can't guarantee i'll be able to attend until nearer the time, mainly due to an earlier dover trip, and a holiday just before this meet, soooo, bear in mind that someone might have to take over this.
so, the only date i would be able to consider, is either 3rd or 4th of Nov, i'll check my diary and with mrs plums to see which i might have to be,
all this is for, is to guage interest. i'll phone in the meantime and see what the deal is on the breakwater.
will limit this comp to twenty anglers.

right, i'll book it for 20 anglers, that gives us 40 pegs, i'm sure i'll be able to fill it up. i'll start with the usual suspects !
Not sure I'll be able to make it Hugh but I will try my best to let you know one way or the other as soon as I can.

right everyone.
date will have to be the 18th, mrs plums has agreed it's the best date as we're looking after her friends kids on the fri night / sat morn, so, i'll be taking her for a slap up meal, or maybe just a slap n :icecream:, and we'll fish sunday on the wall.
so... sunday 18th november, i'll book it for twenty people, so we'll have 40 pegs booked. a bit tight, but there we go ! (the alternative is to just turn up én mass).
we can run it as a comp, as before, but i think this time we'll run it from 10am to 3pm, alowing me an hour to work out the results at the end.
one catch..... i'll be taking a birthday cake for mrs plums and you'll have to sing happy birthday !
so.... names please !!
burnsie,
badger2 ?
haggis and mrs haggis,
plums and mrs plums,
Marco,
Chris next door,
edgey + ?

Don't want to put a downer on it, but by choosing the 18th you have chosen probably the worst tides to fish! :uhuh: November will be prime time for some good fishing. Best tide is a midday ish high, but it is a midday ish low....not good. :uhuh: It could be so good if fished on the right tide, so why go to all the effort and expense to fish a poor tide? The last meet proved just this, the fishing was ok to start, and ok at the top of the tide and down a couple of hours. After that it was poo! :yucky:
I'm in if the date is changed. :)

hmmm, the next one i could make would have to be two weeks later in dec, so tides are prob similar,

To be honest, compared to many meets this year, the last one was an absolute fish fest........ Remember Chesil and Hayling...!!
Hugh, count me and my brother in law (matwfish) in on this one.
Cheers
Lee.

Hi Hugh

hi dude, due to not enough people in on this one, we've decided to replace it with the pevensey bay meet (sat 17th) as this had a much better response.
we will most definitely do dover again, an over night trip again i think, can't say i'm keen on sharing a wall with 50 other people anyway, especially with the tidal rip there is.
be a much more civilised affair over night.
might begin looking for a suitable date.
