best regards garythere are a few clubs close to you. maryport s.a.c and rockhoppers . if you ring ashton on --- 01900819723 he will give you details. theres plenty of benifits from joining a club, the lads have all the local info you need and some are well informed on fishing in other areas.
there is a league fished between the clubs in your area and you will enjoy some good craic from the members.

Hi we are a new fishing club set up in Workington at the union jack pub, all the lad,s are great we learn you were to fish help you with bait and different fishing rigs to make, save's you buying rig's if you can make them. Also we make it fun i will show you were and how to get bass one lad in club never had a bass till he came with us first time a bass 4 1/2 lbs second time 3 1/2 lbs so it is good to join a club, here are two of the lad's number's.

there are also clubs in maryport and workington barrow in furness, cumbrian rockhoppers and many more. you dont need to join a website to be a member of these clubs. just contact the club of your choice, pay your membership and join in.

From a West Cumbria point of view, there is -

Harrington SAC
[B]Maryport & District SAC
[B]NW Rockhoppers SAC
[B]Whitehorse SAC
[B]Workington & District SAC

Collectively, the above clubs make up the ‘federation’ known as the [B]“North West Sea Angling League” (NWSAL) Which was established over 50 years ago.

There are also some other clubs which I am not as familiar with. So, apologies in advance if I get any details wrong.

Senhouse St WMC SAC
[B]Parton SAC
[B]Harrington Boating & Sailing Club – Angling Section [Dinghy/Beach]

I also believe that SASRA (“BNFL” employees recreational association) also has a Sea Angling section.

Can anyone else post details of clubs in the South & North of the county? (Not aware of any in the East)

Theres also North West Donkers that runs through out the Lancashire and Cumbria area.

We have match days, local meets to both Cumbria and Lancashire aswell as travelling around the country fishing. 24hr species hunts, casting days and loads more. Well worth a try.
