Right everyone,
as the Dover trip numbers for the proposed november meet have been a lot short of my expectations, and the fact that it's only just after my holiday (ie prob be skint)i was wondering about doing a big pevensey meet instead, or maybe another location.
now i'm not sure whether to so it on sunday 18th (mrs plums birthday, will see what she thinks) or on the saturday / sat night ? i always prefer a night time bash, but will go with the general wish.
saturday day would give us a low at 09:45 (only a 5.8), and a high at 15:25,
or we could poss fish down from about 5pm (chinese meal first at the den) over low, it would still fishable on a long chuck, as the water won't receed too far, and then up to high, around 4am (or beyond !)
it would be cheaper for all concerned (unless you live nearer to dover than here !
november should still see bass and codling, but will certainly see flounder, dab and whiting by then, plenty of bbq / frying pan fodder !
can i have some basic ideas on what you lot think ?
Plums
Hugh,
There will be 3 or 4 of us again whatever you choose to do, makes no difference, nice to meet up and get some angling done.

nice one barry,
jamie.....
saturday 17th, definite.
everyone.....
i would reckon it best we meet around 7:30pm at the den/happy dragon, grab a chinese to warmvus up (or even some of their food!) and head of to the mark (currently undecided) before low which is 22:13, it's only a 5.8 so really you can fish right aay at most marks that have sand and not mud.
mrs plums and I will fish on until 4am as it's her birthday on saunday, we need to be half awake at least ! high tide is 04:21hrs.
how does that sound ?
obviously those who wish to stay longer, can,
Just found the thread, yep I should be there day or night.

Didnt fish the bay since Feb, so I'll come along. Want to see if it is true that there are fish other than Rockling living there......:)
Will the tide be no good for a pump before hand Hugh?

rockling city sometimes !!!
as for digging/pumping, it's a very short tide, only a 5.8m, so it's doubtful that any pumping can take place, though it's possible, there's occasionally some sand and a small amount of worms could be gathered,

hi dude, there were a number of codling caught during the last couple of matches during the week, not sure since,
i went today for a few hours with my daughter, just whiting and a dab or three, all sizeable at least !
worm baits usually, mainly lug, tide will be too short to dig before hand, so get your bait early, anglers den don't book bait while the tides are short, it's hihghly likely they'll run out before the meet.
rag, squid, macky all work,, so does raw prawn if you can get em or afford them ! fish were both close in and at distance today (1/2hr up, over high and 2hrs down).
Hugh
Can we confirm what time we're all meeting up Hugh? With the short tide it looks like I'll have to dig the the morning low locally.
I may well make an appearance, but not sure yet.

Hi Steve, i guess this'll do.
as for diggin, i won't be able to dig localy after weds i think, so get what you can while you can, the tides are just too short.
Hugh
looks like im not gonna make this one gotta re-dec an entire flat before monday+carpets ready for my son to move in.:bye2::bye2:

Just a thought, why does it have to commence so late? Would it not be better to start in the afternoon? Then it gives those who do not want to (or can't) fish until 4am.
crazyplums
16-11-2007, 17:04
hi damo, it doesn't have to start so late at all, nobody suggested an early start though.
looking at the weather (force 5 in yer face by 1-3am) i doubt i'll stay on too late myself, se how the fishing goes i guess, i had considered getting the big groin by the end of the bungalows and setting up a tarp with bbq etc underneath it, anyone up for that ?
could make it nearer 4pm if ya like, the den will still be open for bait then (frozen lug only i suspect).
