Well done to Domestos who won by catching a 5lb 6.5oz codling. Happyshopkeeper was 2nd, Hot Wad 3rd. 4 codling were caught in total. I caught **** all that was sizable.

Yes... my hands are still sore when trying to lift it on the pier the 60lb line was slipping through my wet hands and was cutting through my fingers. It was desperate measures for me Schumacher, as I had only a few frozen blacks with me that were being ripped of by the hooks from small bream and crabs. Like most of the anglers I came with dogfish intentions with mackerel and squid strips. At 10:20pm, when I realised that there was no chance to get into the prices and after hearing off a couple of codlng getting caught, I though I should try a whole squid, and within 20mins... line went slack. Good thing I had a weak link system on as well, as the lead never came back! Lucky thing too, I had a 60lb snood on!
Most important thing though, guess what's for dinner tonight....:)

A fine winning fish Dimitrios…..:clap3:

Always a pleasure to go into Worthing territory and return a profit…:)

Chris dropped a bass going for the lift estimated at around 7lb (hook straightened).

Yep - nice fish Dimitrios, well done! As you say, lucky you had strong enough line to be able to haul it up by hand. Not surprised your hands are sore.

Hard luck to Chris on the bass - it was a beauty.

I was not in the money, but at least I beat Schumacher with an eel last chuck!

sorry I missed this one guys. Couldnt hack it financially, as I am in the middle of a wee cash flow crisis! Well done for the codling! Now, tell mre, are drop nets banned in Worthing comps??

Drop nets are not banned. Club use to have 2 or 3 drop nets but they disappeared (one maybe in colins greenhouse) Biggest fish "swung" up on pier this year was a 12lb hound by Baz but wasnt in a match at the time ....

Billy does not eat fish caught by other anglers...:uhuh: a philosophy I am not necessarily subscribing to... many times we've been fishing together and I kept his catch as well!!! What can I say, I love eating fish!
