View Full Version : another seaford meet?
anyone interested in another meet at seaford?
oct 10/11 or 12 look ok. tides 6.5-6.6 all around the midnight hour ish
where to fish im open to suggestions.
Im interested in coming along to this one as gives me time to recover, and even if i still cant fish I will pop along. i think im free all dates so will let those that are definately fishing decide. should get a good showing as plenty of notice.
Would like to give it a go as well, but can't do the following dates:
29th Sept.13/15th/16th October.
Any other dates no problem.
the 12th would be more favoured i think as it is a friday night.but i have been wrong before many times(just ask judge and tipper)
i can do the three dates if someone cant make one or another

I'll be up for this too. Have checked already with my social secretary and my diary is clear for the dates mentioned.
looks like this one is gonna be a couple of mini meets over 3 days.
it could be interesting to see how the beach fishes over a few days from the same spot.
anyone else comming?
i will definately be there for one of the dates, prob the 12th but can prob make any eve so cant wait.

I'm in, whenever.
at the mo it looks like the 10th is favoured so here goes.
meet up about 7.00 pm at edinburgh rd car park/place.intros set up an fish.
i know some are fishing on the 13th so the 10th gives you a break before then(keeps the other half happy)
so whos deffo for the 10th and who wants to fish another of the 2 nights?

10th suits me but I could make any day if needs be.
10th is a possibility for me depending on travel but 12 and 13th are also good. will prob be with a couple of mates who are planning to fish the sat 13th.
I'd like to tag along for the meet if thats ok. The 10th would be just fine for me as I'm away working over the weekend.
Cheers,
Sam.

Im 99% sure that me and a few mates are fishing the 13th (sat) eve so your welcome to pop along and fish with us. we will prob fish the beachcomber area or edinburgh road. I will post a time and spot to meet on here midweek after i have spoke with my mate (as he has to travel down from london) but will be good to meet up and fish. If anyone else fancies the 13th let us know.
As for the 10th, i will try and get along and see you guys as well (transport permitting).

I haven’t really introduced myself on here before so hello to you all. I be that very friend craig is refering to in the above post. I'll be heading down the m23 early sat afternoon to hopefully get an evening session in before a comp in the morn so will be good to see you all. If the fish are playing the same game as us we will probably end up fishing until the early hours (which invariably means falling asleep half an hour into the match later in the morning) Not sure if craig's aware of that yet ;) Oh well no rest for the wicked.
So count me in if you decide to fish sat 13th. Hopefully see you all then

Should be able to do the 13th.
it looks like there are 2 deffinate meets this week one on the 10th and another on the 13th.
i know ideyboy is fishing the 13th so its over to him on that one.
on the 10th i thought we would meet up at the edinburgh rd car park spaces at 7.00ish obviously if someones working and cant make it till later its no prob.just look for a load of fishyfolke.
so whos up for it then?
Hi,
Just to let you know that a few of us are fishing seaford on saturday night (13th), meeting at 7ish near the beachcomber pub and fishing between the beachcomber pub and edingburgh road (prob nearer to edingburgh road just incase you cant make the 7 meet time). Ht is at 0101 and low tide is at 7 i think, so will be fishing the tide coming in. If you fancy it then let me know. Its not a match so no limits on rods, hooks etc. and more just a friendly meet, but we can put a pound or two in for heaviest fish if everyone agrees. I wont be fishing due to my back but im still going along to help out, talk fishing and chat etc.
Anyway, just let me know if your up for it. if you cant make the 7 meet time then just look for us on the beach just to the west of the beachcomber pub near edingburgh road.
TOPCAT, I will try and make wednesday but it depends on travel, im seeing my surgeon and physio on wed morning and they will let me know if im ok to drive, if they give me the all clear i will come and let you know on the day.as for sat, i have posted the details above and i know of 4 ppl that are definately attending and am waiting on a fair few to get back to me through the week.

hi mick,
i can't do the two latter meets, just tonight, i'm not aware of the slip to be honest, i only fish there occasionally, if the slip is as you described it, just smooth concrete, then i doubt anyone would have any probs, i certainly wouldn't. though the beach itself is pretty steep, so not chair friendly. best see what the others think dude.
if this one doesn't work out for you, gimme a shout and i'll see if we can work something out,
Hugh
best of luck.

Good to hear there are a few who can make sat, we will be just to the east of the beachcomber pub so you wont have to look to far if you get there after 7. there will prob be a load of headlamps so almost as good as a flairs :). be good to see you all there. just hope the fish and the winds do their part now.

Fished seaford last night for five hours or so. One pouting. Did miss one bite that was typical sole, but no interest at all on the "margin" rods. REckon this fresh SW we have woken up to might have a dramatic effect. Will try and get down for Wednesday session, and if I have any bait left over on the return from Deal, will come and play Saturday night.
Hows the recovery going Craig? Its very frustrating when people are reporting fish, and you cant get amongst em. Thats how I felt when you boys were bagging hounds on the marina, and I was stuck in Czech!!
Mick 43 - you have a PM.
FishyRob - See you wednesday, lets hope the water has a good old stir up today!!!

Hi mate, cheers for the report, hopfully the fish will come on the feed now. be good to see you sat if you can make it. I can now understand your pain when we were getting the hounds. I cant believe the timing of the cod run. we have had the best run of them in the past few weeks and i havent been able to wet a line once. Im seeing the surgeon on wed who should be able to give me an estimated time of when can return (fingers crossed its soon). the break has made me appreciate how much i love the sport and also given me time to fix/clean all my rods and reels as well make some rigs. Im praying the the sw stay for a bit and stir the water up so we can get some catches, im gonna try and record video of the meet, providing its not raining as i dont wanna break my laptop.

Just checked the weather for the next 5 days and doesn’t seem too bad. There’s certainly going to be a chop in the water for the wed meet with quite a blustery easterly kicking up a stir so all the best to those braving the elements on wed. thur and fri see moderate winds heading down from the north west and finally turning on the sat to an easterly so lets hope there’s still going to be some energy in that sea for the sat meet. Might turn the cod back on the feed, you never know.
if i can get the bathroom finshed before friday i might earn enough fishing points to come on sat too:clap3:

50 quid well spent.
Only let me down once when I was fishing Chesil beach when it took off but by then I think it was getting a bit dodgy to fish it anyway!
just how many of us can fit into a r/t shelter if it turns bad lol:laugh::laugh:

Yep, it looks good on first inspection. manage to easily fit 2 or 3 ppl in and i will take mine on sat. I will prob fasten it down by placing shingle all over the flaps and maybe use the pegs to tie bags of stones to (i will take the empty bags home afterwards.
I also checked out a great site http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ as it gives wind directions for the next 5 days. seems sunday things will pick up in SW winds (typical).
see you at 7ish

No need for bags to weigh it down like you say just bury the flaps in shingle and it'll be fine.
Looks like Swesterlies for next week then.Good stuff.
See you all down there I'm off in a little while.
