Daz - bit of constructive criticism mate - this is part of the problem - inconsistency - no-one knows where they stand - Pauls last trip 'advert' you let run in the main NW forum, and this one he asks you just as nicely and you move it. You are making it tough for yourself.

cheers

Your right mate this is the problem, this post is in the right place now it is still in the NW forum isn't it.
Daz's JOB is to move things to where they should be.
Maybe he moved this post straight away because of the trouble caused by certain members who seem to feel the site is run for their benefit when he moved the last one.
To instruct members not to post reports and throwing the collective Teddy bear in the corner is against site rules (have you read em) and to attack Daz in this way is childish, he is only doing what Senior Mods tell him he has to do.
Be carefull lads because you won't be able to post anything if you get Banned for making personal attacks on a man who puts a lot more effort into this site than any of us do, and before anybody starts yes I do know Daz, and he has moved .closed and even deleted my posts but that was my fault not his.
Lets be glad we have someone who will do the modding and organising and spend so much of his own time making this site say as good as it is.

George I assume by quoting me you are accusing me of making personal attacks when I start off my post by stating constructive criticism (intended). You are inflaming already troubled waters unnecessarily.
My Dad taught me that if I had nothing worthwhile to say I should say nowt, and that's what Ive stuck to - he would have told you to keep quiet on that one

Again the right move by Daz, as the rules have got to be followed.

Quote by chris P from the last discussion on this matter,

Exactly how it should be, the trip was organized by the NW forum so the post remains in the NW section, that is where the interest is. The report then goes in the geographical area where it was fished with a thread if you want in the NW section with a clicky link to the report.

Don't worry I'm not mellowing, he has just done the right thing.

Till the next time our swords cross.:kissing:

Down to you oldchukka

ps, its good to have your post closed when it is your fault, but you feel a bit pi##ed when it's not.

I see you didn't listen then mate, No Wilky I wasn't aiming at you in particular more at the Thread and I wanted to throw in my two penneth on the last thread but didn't because i thought the people concerned would learn from it.
Abide by the rules like everyone else and the waters will be calm.
If you don't like what you read then close the book.
This is my last word on this, so feel free to rant all you like there will be no answer.

i thought that last time it was left in the nw forum because it was for nw lads to fish only when the report came in it was moved there is no sence having a boat trip being organised for nw anglers by nw anglers moved from the nw forum is there ?

and is there room for me on this one paul please :) ?

Why all the fuss and dummy spitting? Surely this is the right section for arranging trips and meets ect.
North West and the Isle of Man > Meets, Matches, Fish-ins, Trips and Charity Events >
See :)
And for what it's worth yes I do know Daz and consider him a mate but what he has done here is stick to to the rules that he has to follow as a mod. If he let the n/w section fill up with reports from other areas no doubt someone would give him grief for it!
Most, if not all my boat fishing is done in north wales and this is where the reports go, simple.

but it still is in the NW FORUM but its now in the sub forum entitled Meets, Matches, Fish-ins, Trips and Charity Events where in this forum which is still part of the NW forum you can Post and arrange your meets, matches, fish-ins, trips and charity events exactly where it should be but because i was trying to be as lenient as i could and bend the rules a little certain people took offence now this will apply to everyone as the rules state :):)

I didn't know the rules until earlier in the week. Personally I don't like them, but they are the rules.

Just to clarify, if NW anglers had a trip and it was posted here in the NW trips forum would it be moved?

Ere we go again, me sticking me nose in.

I PM'd the trip organiser last night with what I thought was a reasonable compromise, come to think of it I still do as he hasn't replied as yet so there is not much I can do until he does.

In a nutshell I sympathise completely with him, he has a partially full boat, he wants bums on seat to keep the costs down to those going and that isn't going to happen unless he gets maximum exposure. I gave up charter trip organising 20 years ago for exactly the reasons he is facing now.

I suggested the same system as applies for the reports, ie, a post with a clicky link to the meets forum placed in general NW forum also in NE general forum. These posts would then be locked by the mods to stop them cluttering up the general forum. They would not clutter the forum but be cascaded as normal when new posts were made. There would be nothing to stop a tip organiser contacting a mod to bump the post for them if time and bums were short.

It seemed to me to address the exposure problem without cluttering up the general forum but gave the trip maximum exposure, I suggested the NE area as some of the members there may want to come along and meet some new faces, make some more contacts.

More work for the mods and the trip organiser but maximum exposure on the site.

The meets section was added in the first place to free up the general forum areas from threads that unless you were actually participating held little interest to the majority of members.

Can I say in addition that it would appear that some members seem to think the mods are against them, you seriously couldn't be more wrong. Our only concern, why we took on the job in the first place is to keep the site running clean and within the rules and to help where we can.
