Hi Guys

As many of you will have seen, the feature we did at Llangennith is now in Sea Angler. I hope you are all coping with the fame though I hear Marcus is having problems with gangs of groupies camping outside his house!

Who fancies doing it again? I suggest The Knap at Barry on Thursday December 6th. High water is at 1634 so if we meet at around 1300 we will be able to fish up to top water and darkness, longer if its good. I chose The Knap because like Llangennith its an easy venue to fish, get to etc, and can easily accommodate a decent sized group. Of course if anyone has objections that I'll be exposing another secret mark, then I'll have a rethink!

Hope some of you are keen to have a go, again Marcus has agreed to compile a list of those interested. No promises, but I'll try & arrange a few prizes again...

Come on Dave.

All this beach fishing you are doing, you'll soon be forgetting how to drive a boat!

Can we put your name down for the Weymouth (yes, South of ENGLAND, that's ALL the way over the bridge and turn right) boat meet next Summer?

As a matter of interest, not just Mr Lewis, but all of you will be welcome to come along assuming we can find a space aboard one of the dozens of small boats coming down.

The meet is over a few days in June and will involve boats targetting everything from inshore bream, bass and hounds to offshore monsters from the wrecks.
It is all just a bit of fun and the usual forum banter, but it will be great to see a few of you down there.

If any of you are keen, visit the boat forum and see the thread which is stickied or PM Cascars asking about it as he is one of the key organisers.

tinker has aranged a charity cod meet on the foreshore on the 16th saturday eve.verry poor feedback on that one.is it because its 2 quid before you start that goes to a good cause or that theres no prizes ,or maybe because you wont get your pic in a well known mag .maybe its the venue or maybe time of day or day of week. well i,m stumped.
i went on the last meet when we fished for g greys ,i also fished the last cod meet on the foreshore ,the two meets were great but i know whitch one comes first.priorities.

i went on the last meet when we fished for g greys ,i also fished the last cod meet on the foreshore ,the two meets were great but i know whitch one comes first.priorities.now why would you say that? i also went on the gg comp. day out, it wasn't the fact that i might see my ugly face in a mag, it was about catching/trying to catch gg mullet and being shown by someone who is regarded as a local expert. i didn't fish the foreshore comp. sunday night/ work etc. it has been pointed out out that on the date chosen its not going to be great fishing, tides needs to be building to make fishing the foreshore successful. i also thought a more local charity who don't get national tv exposure would benefit a whole lot more than something that'll get 7 hours of bbc1 airtime.

to generalise and say people won't fish it because theres no prizes, fame, £2 cost involved, is insulting.

or perhaps its because no tide times have been posted, theres no feedback??

obviously i'll attend both if i can, new job permitting ( if i can find one..lol )

I'd rather the charity get the money and any prize raffled and the money again going to a charity.

As a couple of other people have said you're out of order here.

Did you ever consider that the slow response could be because it's a bloody long walk to fish a litter-strewn place with no room to cast and most of all - if the last outing was anything to go by - there's NO BLOODY FISH. Pm me your address and I'll post you a cheque for 2 quid.

What's this Knap mark like ????

Is it easy to get to ??

Does it require a long cast ??

Maybe,:) just maybe fit enough for an easy mark.:) If I can dodge her in doors.

Nope....thats just for the Xmas boaty extravaganza!!...

AS for you Ken...its a reasonably steep Big Pebble Beach...With a good distance cast is a good idea...

Not being your Doctor or anything...If you come,,i suggest not fishing,Just come down with a deckchair and a flask and just chill out...

Sorry if anyone found my post insulting, I was only trying to find out why some events are more successful than others and maybe we could put things right in the future to ensure that all events are well attended, as I would like to organise futre charity events myself. Especlially helping local charities that do not recieve much attention and also those great causes such as R.N.L.I and Air Ambulance which all anglers would benefit from. Apolagies for upsetting anybody hope to have as much support as possible. Various venues would be choosen to suit all needs and abilities.
