this mark like most other marks all over the coast never fish the same on a day to day basis ,there are 2 reasons i have chosen this mark for this meet .
1. this stretch of beach will hold a good few anglers , has easy access and allows for camping too.

2. this mark is well known mark for decent spurdogs and the odd thornie , i cant guarantee you a catch but there is a good chance of it.

also personally use pennel pulley rigs with 30lb wire hook length with 3,o hooks, 5-6oz grip leads are also advised at this mark too as the tide can rip through .

best rigs would be pulley penel rigs with wire hooklength, 5-6oz gripleads are advisable as the tide usually rips through there .
best baits would be mackerel and sqid although sandeel is not bad too.

shop till you drop chewy make some of the pulleys short and some long depending on flow and if you want ,have a few running ledgers with wire just in case you fish on a clear bit

pulleys will be fine kev but just to be on the safe side use a wire hook length ,bait is mackie,squid,herring,trout whatever you fancy really

Just back from Furnace and cairndow on Loch Fyne. Crap fishing (2 poor cod) and got completely drenched. Tons and Tons of fresh water coming off the hills and a huge tide tonight (up to the tree at Cairndow). With these conditions, I fear the worst catch wise at Etive. I do hope I'm wrong though?

I never even wetted a line in Etive, i enjoyed the scenery in the pub with Big Al for a bit whilst 1Colin fished away lol. We then headed round to Furnace and i bagged myself a few Doggies (pics to follow). Headed back up to Furnace again on Sunday night and lost a good fish right on that blimmin ledge. Try the pier after that as running low on leads but nothing.

Anyone any tips for fishing Furnace behind that wee Cafe/Coffe Shop/Bistro?
