In regards to the forthcoming match at East Preston this Sunday (9:00-14:00), I've been told that the meeting point is not the usual spot but it is likely to be the Royal Legion... can anyone verify that... along with directions/address if possible?

Once you get to the Railway crossing near the mini Garage at East Preston (near roundstone) follow the road round to the left which is North Lane , keep following this road (has plenty of bends!) until you come to the parade of shops on your left hand side.
The Royal Legion in East Preston is virtually opposite the shops you first come to, on the corner of Kenhurst and North Lane.
Better still get Billy to take you. I Dont know if the book in is at the Royal Legion.
Hot Wad is the local East Preston hero and will give better directions and his secret tips .....

Both Billy and myself blanked :nonono::nonono:
Although the water was murky, not much showed up.
I was getting a few undersized bass... at some point a couple of whiting showed up and the biggest (from Dave) was 11oz... I think it came on King Rag... I think a flounder was caught as well... but overall, with the weed and everything, a poor day... good to be out fishing as always mind you :yahoo:

Bad luck, did many people fish the match ? ..... you should keep doing Worthing Pier matches ... you have a 100% winning record on there :marinheir

... circa 20 people... problem with worthing pier matches is that a. they are usually Sunday night, and b. they are from a pier... I prefer beach fishing... will show up again at some point though, no doubt!

Fished East Preston beach last Thursday. Had a couple of whiting as the tide came up, then the weed was a real problem.
There was a group there from Seaford, and one guy told me there were loads of whiting the night before. We fished with squid and mackerel. Although I live close by in Worthing, this was the first time I’ve been to this Sea Lane mark near Rustington. Will have another go next night tide as I’m told that the odd codling can show?
The Seafor mob lefte well before high tide, so they may have seen the weed coming. Where did they go I wonder?

The East Preston match on the Wednesday evening was won with 28 sizable whiting. You would have probably done better using lug tipped mackerel for the whiting. Have been a few odd codling down there during the last couple of months.

Cheers.
Didn't have lug, but I tend to lob out bigger baits and hope for the best.
I'll be back there soon.
