If the weather forecast is correct we can kiss this trip goodbye with wind speeds of 28mph
nows the time for some positive vibes ! not long to go, getting tackle sorted, bait being organised, some snap to be sorted end of week, lets hope some of the lesser battered variety still around.

what tackle you taking guys ? was thinking of leaving the uptider at home and taking a 7# fly rod and sinking line for all the freshwater we've got, and a garden rake for the weed !
but may need some extra backing, lol
and a big pack of scotch eggs

I shall be leaving the uptiding to the fitter crew members and just dropping over the stern :whistling:roll1::roll1:
Chris, you'll cast further with the fly rod, so I'd stick with that if I were you. You have to take your uptider anyway so that you can launch it over the side when you blank, AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been checking the wind speed and if I take an average across five sites we are looking at 15mph. Sea forecast as rough with wave heights average of 2.7m.
It does not look to bright.
The forecasts seem to be getting worse for Saturday, looks like if we get out we'll have a soaking!

The forecasts seem to be getting worse for Saturday, looks like if we get out we'll have a soaking!
Been following it closely for the pass few days and the wind speeds dropped down to around an average of 7mph which is great but now they are sliding the lower wind speeds into Friday evening/early Saturday morning so that average speed at 0900hrs is around 10mph, 1100hrs 15mph, 1400hrs 18mph, so it is increasing throughout the day.
On top of that Thursday / Friday morning we are looking at an average of 21mph gusting 28mph so even though it drops of over Friday night it is leaving behind it some big seas 2.7m is a lumpy bit of water.

What your actually quoting there is that they WILL be going out:g: Theres and even money chance of going out, which is yes and no. So if you gave someone 2/1 that they DONT go out then you are saying that they will go out. Just a quick note, no strangely we did not have to tuck up any where. Yes we caught cod, I totaled three one very small 1/2lb and one border line keeper probably would have made it but they were returned to fight another day.
The third I kept weighing in I believe either 3lb 8oz or 10oz which put me in third place for the pool and rod.
Let others chip in now.
Just read some of your other earlier post, I can remember at least twelve cod being caught, there were a definate 3 fish x 2, 4 x1, and at least two singles maybe more.
Considering the forecast things turned out quite well, must admit I was a bit worried being my first time since the chopper job, but the boys looked after me well, many thanks to them.
Paid4 gave it his best shot but it didn't pan out.
