I'll be there as usual, losing the kids' christmas present money. Its satsumas and sugar mice this year unless I get lucky.

Gonna be lovely tonight. I imagine there is a fair chance the landing stage will be closed which will make it interesting. Mind you, if the landing stage is open it will still be interesting. Has it been breaking over the stage today do you know, Schuey?

Well done to Yeti Angler :punk:who won with 2 codling in his last few casts for a weight of 6lb 5oz or something. Second was local match organiser and match favourite Mark_S :nerd:(England team are watching his progress :)) who had a 2lb 8oz Bass (weighed and released straight away) and a 2lb 15oz Codling. 3rd was local commedian Mick Ramsey :sad2: with a codling of 1lb 15oz which he claims was an easy 3lb  The Happyshopkeeper :yeah:caught a whiting and I :)had a rockling and everyone else blanked including Billy :cold:who manged to fish almost every single spot on the pier.

Highwayman :wheelchaiturned up with his poodle but at his age and with the weather like it is he could not fish and swiftly returned home to have his nightly Horlicks.

Next match is Friday 21st December

Got lucky so kids do get pressies after all! A well deserved win for Yeti Angler, who got past me in the last ten minutes:clap3:. But justice was done, as he had also lost a decent codling earlier on trying to lift it. I netted his next two despite trying my best to sneakily knock them off while blaming the swell and the wind.:):)

Well done to all that fished the comp as it sounds like there were a few nice fish caught.

Was the landing stage fished?

What baits were most successful in the rough conditions?

Unfortunatly i was unable to fish due to work comitments, however id like to attend the next pier match, is there a potential date?

sorry, Guys, I feel I am rather letting you down. Am up in Essex getting ready for the Orford beach clean this saturday (I think all the rubbish will have cleaned itself with the forecast....!) Will definately make the 21st, cos the mother in law flies in from Prague that day..............
Well done yeti angler. Winning with codling seems to be the theme on the pier this winter!!

Haven't seen you for ages, Rob, so look forward to seeing you on the 21st then. I head off to Norfolk for Christmas week the following morning so I will have to make sure I am all packed up and ready to go for fear of a wifely veto on me going fishing!

The problem you've got now Mark is that your wife will be expecting you to win all the time now that you have started going home laden with cash. Can you handle the added pressure?

Rumour has it Mark_S is on the lookout for a bigger bucket - these normal ones are simply not big enough for what he plans to catch :icecream:

Schuey and The Bandit are yanking my chain - and inadvertently yours, Mr Zippy, due to the near miraculous feat of me managing to end a match with more money than I started with. There must have been a blue moon shining behind the clouds on Wednesday night and I reckon it'll be when the next one comes around that I don't come away from a match a tenner lighter than I started it. By and large, I am strictly cannon fodder for the big guns...
