Hi,
Can anyone tell me what bottom fishing on the pacific side of panama is like? Eg: Kinds of fish, what rigs and baits etc? I am new to this style of fishing in this part of the world. Any advice would be most welcome!

Absolutely superb! Great banks and reefs around places like the Perlas Islands and Isla Coiba, and at Pinas Bay. Loads of big Jacks and Grouper, normally taken jigging. What bait fishing is normally with livebaits - Black Skipjacks and Blue Runners.
As a starting point it might well be worth looking at a couple of these sites - http://www.coibadventure.com, http://www.tropicstar.com and http://www.panamafishingandcatching.com. There're places and crews I've fished. Also the English Trip Reports/'Cafe' section of http://www.caranx.net has some interesting comments and pictures.
