What's the score so far Snag ?
I hear your England team are heavily outnumbered each match..
You must have been well hammered in the last two matches 'cos the Welsh outnumbered you two to one ??????

You know...... when your fishing the 'Cod Hotspot' of S/Wales at the peak of the Cod Season.... you'd think anglers would be queueing up to enter this fun comp.
From Cornwall,to right up the country, it's no more than a 3 hour drive to this stunning mark, with Cod on the menu.
And the chance to represent your country............:1a:
I should be able to make it..... seeing as how I am attending my UK citizenship ceremony tomorrow evening! Wonder if I will have to change my nickname?:g::g:

Dear Snaggletooth.......
I hear that some of the Welsh team are allowed to fish other areas away from the Ranny and register their catch by mobile phone to their team captain..........
Would it therefore be ok for me to fish the Humber Wall and register my catch by mobile phone to you ??
This opens up a chance for a lot more English anglers to fish in their own chosen areas..... always keeping in touch with you by mobile phone of course.

We would still be fishing Welsh waters and it's our nearest coast.
We would send our catch report by mobile phone to you, of course.

I have a question..... Being a true cornishman and a celt does that quilify me for the welsh team, but then I have to travel through england to play, so do I play for them mmmmmmmmm, that is if I can persuade my little one to let me go on her 11th birthday.
:ahhh::ahhh: If the answer is yes then myself and maybe 2 other members will be there. After a lot of thought I suppose I better be on englands team.Or should I stand in the middle....I hate dilema's.

Please note that the forecast for sunday is very iffy. For those who have a long journey to the match, it will be understandable if you do not attend, it would be nice if you could let us know though.

Unfortunately, I will not be there. As some know already, I've hurt my back. Early in the week there were signs of improvement. Tried a cast in the field and I'm back to square one again.
You'll be pleased to know that Pat has agreed to take on the captaincy for this match.
Good luck to both teams on what may be a difficult day.

Not much for me to do mate you've pretty much sorted us out, so I don't mind stepping up just to accept the trophy off Andy.
If anyone needs to discuss anything pm Glassback or me.( although I've got most of you on ignore):)

Hi all - I have to back out I'm afraid... With the poor forecast and the fact that my trick shoulder (partial dislocation) is playing up again, I'm only going to be good for a couple of chucks, so a long drive and several hours of fishing is a no go for me this weekend...
Sorry all - hope the weather isn't as bad as predicted and the fish are biting for you all.
Good luck everyone!

Cracking venue and a pleasant surprise with the weather.....
The fishing was poor but the event was a great success, especially for the winning Welsh squad.
Several small codling won the 'match' for the hardy Welsh, although there were a few 'nodding' cod lost on the retrieve.
30-40 quid raised by Roamers RNLI raffle and excellent banter all through the day made the event memorable for all involved.
A cameo appearance from Ian Holton was a treat for all...
It was a pleasure to fish alongside such a friendly and helpful Welsh team, who went out of their way to offer advice and tactics for the venue.
Credit to the winning captain Andy, a 'big' man in every sense of the word, who made it all possible.
We now eagerly await the re-match and the chance to avenge your narrow victory............ Congratulations to all involved.
Oh, well done to Blankerman Al. who received the biggest fish award kindly donated by Rockling:hug:
Well done to everyone that made it. I worked through half the night Sat to try and get there but was just too knackered to face the drive Sunday and to be honest that wind didn't make me want to try too hard, it was blowing a gale at my house.
