Many thanks to Mike for this new forum.:clap3::clap3::clap3:
I'll kick things with a basic thread so that we know who lives near each other.
I'm from Malvern in Worc's.
I best add that I fish S. Wales, The Mersey, various parts of the S West and occasionally manage to get out on a boat and break it.

If you can put up with the smell by the lighthouse, it's easy fishing with a fair number of species available without having to cast miles.

Yeah, I thought that too!
I must be the most land locked, as I live not 3 miles away from the village of Meriden, which is meant to be the very centre of England (it figures - Meriden - latin(ish) - middle)
I think the Brizzal channel is probably the nearest at around 90 odd miles away from me. Skegness is easier for me to fish (at 125 miles each way), as the in-laws live there and I take the family to them and get to fish at the same time!

Hi I'm Alan and live just outside Southend-on-sea I fish on the beaches from Norfolk down to Sussex. Or from the boat mainly in the Thames Estuary.
I am JonC, I am not actualy land locked, as I live at the stone, and can see the river out of my window, though it is dark now so I cant.
I mainly boat fish as I like the catching side of the game as well as the standing about bit. I still do a bit of beach fishing but always second choice for me.
I am out of boats at the moment but plan on getting another soon, when I finnish the house.
I live in Shackerstone, Leicestershier so you canīt get much further from the sea than me!

just thinking how anybody can be landlocked, when we all live on an island. since i moved house i am now 5 miles from the sea, was 500 yards before i moved. oh why did i move. all that travelling now.
suppose i'll be better off when this global warming thing kicks in and my previous home is under 50 feet of muddy sea water. :fish:

No don't think I've ever been there, unfortunately they're no longer with me, they were more than pets,my boys helped me through a very bad time and thats my favourite pic of them. I do have another one now though although not sure for how long as she's now 14yrs, every days a bonus, (the b/w made 12 and the L/w was only 9)
Spangles tend to leave a permanent mark on your life and memories!
Good ages for springers (9's about average nowadays - my pop breeds working springers and cockers as his post retirement pocket money and has had a few FTC's the last couple of years!)

I would love to breed them, but I don't have the space, I think once you've had one you don't look at another breed, they're a good all round breed, I dread losing Pebbs, we did say we wouldn't have another dog but I can't imagine life without one, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it, at the moment shes doing good, just got arthritus and a couple of tumours that are better left alone.

I currently live close to Stonehenge in Wiltshire but I'm in the final stages of being relocated to the Bristol area where we are having a house built - so from land locked I'm going to be within 5 mins walk of the Bristol Channel:fishing1: Having spent a small fortune in the last couple of years driving to the coast every weekend and being so frustrated at trying to time trips with getting hold of bait etc I'm rather glad to be on the move. I just hope the natives are friendly!

Hi all. Live 50 miles from coast near Ballater on Deeside between Birkhall and Balmoral (now thats what you call namedropping) Main drawback living inland is of course the provision of bait. Thank heavens for freezers. The River Dee is a superb salmon and seatrout river so when not on coast I am on the river. Fishing is my main reason for existing.

Hi everyone, I'm jim (harry) live and work in Coventry (Royal Mail 30 years man and boy, well mostly man). Get out when i can, which is not as often as i would like. Fish mainly in the winter although always take my gear on holiday. First started sea fishing down Brean sands about 20 years ago (man that is a hard venue). We only used to fish on big spring tides, do one tide then sleep in the car till we could reach the water on the following tide. Big mistake! Now fish east coast ( Orford, Southwold and Pakefield or as far up as Lowestoft), do still venture down Bristol channel at Burnham lower light or over Brean down. Get down Chesil now and again or even down Hythe in Kent. Tight lines Harry

I'm from West Wilts - Melksham to be precise, would like to meet others from Wiltshire, share travel, info, etc. Mainly fish Chesil, West Bay, Lyme Regis and had a trip to Linstock which I hope to do again.....Mainly boat fish out of Weymouth. Tony.
Hello all Im john from Liverpool and I fish all over. Boat fishing is from Weymouth and other venues down south up to Thurso north Scotland. Dont think you can get two venues much further apart. Shore fishing is from Cumbria down along the lleyn. Mainly on Anglesey and the Mersey of course.

Hey yawl, I'm taking up space and bandwidth over yonder across the pond on Amelia Island, upstate Flori duh USA. I go saltwater catching in the southeast Georgia and northeast Flori duh area.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x91/dreamsfloatjoe007/motw-dfjoe-ss.jpg
Si from swansea [originally an Eastender - moved up in 1992]. Before I came here it was mostly coarse fishing with the occasional foray to the coast. After moving up I took up fly fishing for a while but ended up tying flies more often than fishing. Got back into a bit of beach fishing and then onto boats as well. Bought my own 15 footer two seasons ago but it's not getting much use now as I joined the Mumbles club and they've got a new 10 meter cat.
Only 10 minutes from swansea and twenty five or so from Rhossili I fish wherever and whenever I can, which sounds great but the whenever is not as frequent as I'd like due to family stuff.
Roll on retirement [still quite a few years off unfortunately!]
So you're not exactly what I would call "landlocked" then NobbyC!?

Hi All,
I'm formerly from St Ives in Cornwall, but now working in Gloucester for a little while! Though to be honest when I look at how much the water rises when it rains around here, I sometimes think that I'm still on the coast!
I'm a lure angling fanatic, so if ya see me chucking bits of plastic and metal in the water, smile sympathetically.......if you see me chucking bits of fish, luncheon meat or sweetcorn, slap me round the face and tell me to wake up man!!:g:

Hi everyone, Snaggletooth advised me to say hello.
I live in Worcester, just by J7 M5. Raving keen boat and shore fisherman in need of trips/sharing costs etc etc. I work in Warks and am in a boat club at work but am a lone shore fisher.
(This is beginning to sound like a lonely hearts ad - I am happy with wife who indulges me in fishing, no doubt as a cunning way of keeping me away from the pub/dirty women).
Anyway, been back sea fishing for about 4 years, just beginning to move from beginner level I guess. Make all my own rigs. Ive got an antique Volvo Estate thats spot on for trips (bit heavy on petrol but can take 3 plus all kit). Ive been trying to locate others locally who want to combine for boat/shore trips, without success until I found WSF - now I have hope!
I work a few weekends a year usually a Sunday and am a long suffering WBA season ticket holder which makes some Saturdays difficult, but can get days off in week with notice as well. Anyone out there fairly local want to explore possibilities of joining up?
