anyone can turn up, it is purely a friendly thing and just for laughs.
the total length of all catches is going to take it and anyone with any kind of mobility issues needs to get there early because we will not be the only people on the beach.
hope the welsh Lads see this!

Ian Houlton
12-12-2007, 18:04
I believe Mike T is going to send us a rig wallet or something for this as well.

Ian Houlton
12-12-2007, 18:39
Rob I really do not know if the Cod will still be around, it is a daytime comp for safety that may have a baring, but on the whole the last time we did this it went to dogfish, the geezer who won it had an 8lb Conger o n a sixe 4 hook! lucky git!

This is Deano's gig mate I am just giving him a bit of help as I am sure our Local club will:help:
We have to have some important bits in so here are the main ones.
There will be a first aid point at the boardwalk and if the wind gets more than a force 4 it will be moved to a back up venue (preston beach, Weymouth.
it will be 1 rod, 3 hooks, everything is measured regardless of how small it may be and realeased unless you are taking it home.

 Great idea lads. The wife and I will almost definately be there, and if for some reason we can't make it we'll happily send our entry fee in the post!!

If the winner is to be decided on total length will there be minimum sizes or will all fish count. Normally the minimum size is 18cm, I just wondered what your rules are going to be.

How many have promised to turn up so far?

Advertise the event on every website you can find if you've not already; anything to fill the beach!!

Good luck with this lads, we're already looking forward to meeting everyone there :clap2:.

Hi Ian
The competition looks very good and I am pleased to say I will be able to donate one of our rods for your cause. I have been looking through our manual and I think the Salt Beach Rod F/S. I shall be sending you the 12 foot version of the rod which has 2 sections and a casting weight of 4 – 8 ozs.
Is this all ok with you? I take it you will need the rod before the 20th?

Cheers
