not heard about them being syringed, but i do know carp anglers who use them in the summer
hi i wrote an article for the freshwater informer once about using alternative baits for carp,,its amazing how easy carp respond to anything that looks like food,, one favourite alternative bait was to use opal fruits i think they call them starbursts now i use to roll them in a ball they look like boilies and on commercial fishries like tanyards etc they caught fish as well as all the usal baits..also another one was to make a bread paste up and mix in a melted mars bar ,,.. squid works well.so does small squares of salmon in fact when i was fishing the wishing tree resorvoir in hastings i was floating near a reed bed when i had a take it turned out to be a grass snake !! i wrote up the article for carp news and angling technics it eventually let go but corr was i scared..cheers andy

How did you find that out then? I fail to see how injecting flavour into a grape will attract the carp as the skin on the grape will prevent flavour leakage? In my opinion a carp is more likely to pick up a grape out of curiosity because it is visually similar to boilies that it is accustomed to picking up and eating rather than because of the flavour you injected it with.

hi .... that sounds like its worth a go... i think people can get too fixed with the idea that "carp only eat this, tench only eat that".... really any bait (non toxic of course) that can give you the edge and land a good specimen is worth a go...even boilies were a new idea once!!!

Know a lad whose won two matches on one of the local carp puddles near us using Wine Gums. Yes, Wine Gums no b*llsh*t !!!
These fish are getting on in size aswell @ 8 & 9 lb'ers. Not the pastie sized one's that'll take anything after just being stocked.
Just goes to show, what you find out if you experiment.
