View Full Version : AnchormanIII Lundy island! 16/7/08 (Fully Booked)
This trip is on WEDNESDAY july 16th
These trips are special Lundy island 12hr+ trips..
They are £45 Per Person..But these are weekday trips also due to the fact the weekend tides are too high to fish around Lundy reefs properly!..
The plan is to steam to Lundy and drift fish for everything and anything,then go out and spend 3-4hrs tope fishing,then back in around the reefs to stock up on mackeral pollock wrasse etc etc..
Should be a lovely day out..

Marcus sorry mate I wont be able to come on this coz its my stag weekend 11th and 12th so i need my rest day to be on the monday otherwise i will be driving a bus still over the limit from saturday and sunday!!!!
If there is a place Marcus, I'm in please....I'll need to double check leave this Monday morning but should be ok if you have room........

Don't know what they are missing, it is worth the ride down just to see Lundy and even though the bass didn't play ball last time the pollock more than made up for it.
Mine were delicious Ken - better than cod. And cheaper too given that they came to artificials rather than £30 of winter lug! Looking forward to it....fantastic day last time.

to those already booked..Can you make sure your all using Braid to minimise the tangles...And 10-14oz Ball leads are essential!..

What is the fascination with "ball leads".
They dont flutter in the tide like diamond and pear shapes..
Possibly 1 space left...Its pending at the mo

Right chaps, a few questions,
1.What time and where are we meeting up?
2.Any lure preferences?colour , make, size
3. What bottom fishing baits will be needed?
Already got some 12oz ball leads thanks to Marcus’s recommendation

Time TBC...
The Boat is at Barry Docks,next to the Yacht club
Black and red jelly worms,Storm Sandeel imitations,different types of feathers,hokkais,Smallish shads(blue mackeral type)
You can take some rag or squid for tipping of your feathers is you want..
Apart from that,baits won't be needed,If theres mackeral around we will be going for the tope,Using fresh mackeral as bait...(you will need 7/0-8/0 hooks and wire trace running ledgers for this and 8oz grip leads)..but this will only happen if theres plenty of mackeral around
I tend to take some ammo sandeel or launce and 1/0 circle hooks to try a few drifts for bass

Your a gent Steve! Ken just beat me into the tackle shop and brought the last big round weights but I've got a few from Weymouth trips. Also got some rather nice looking artificials that a birdie told me are the red hot bait? Is that right Ken? See you at 0330 hrs then mate?
Are you picking Marcus up?If you are,remind the sillybilly to bring my jacket,I was blooming freezing on the way out to Lundy!

Marcus has just phoned and it is not looking good for Lundy tomorrow, Dave is out currently and will advise Marcus around 5pm.
Marcus will ring me to let me know as he won't have computer access and I will post on here plus pm crew.
Just had a good check around and average wind speed Lundy / Freshwater West 15mph.

If it goes it will be a bit of a mixed bag, if you get some 8oz 10oz & 12oz round ball weights and some tube booms you will be nearly there. A couple of tope traces, I have jellies, a couple of shads and some feathers would just about cover it.
