Well sounds like you have a very understanding fiancee!
I gather there're two distinct sides to the island, the 'Atlantic' side where most of the offshore fishing takes place and the Caribbean where you should be able to encounter species like Bonefish from the shore. Whereabouts will you be staying?
Just as a starting point you might want to view this link - http://jamaica-guide.info/activities/fishing.and.chartering/.

Might be worth reading the comments on this thread - http://www.worldseafishing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77282. They're fairly general and should work. If you can't get hold of the small jigs and lures mention Conch or Shrimp will always work. Just take along some lead shot as casting weights and, my preference, baitholder hooks.
Please let us know how you get on ... on the fishing front!

If others don't reply the http://www.tripadvisor.com forums can be a useful source of information. Here's once such post - http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g147313-i70-k415671-Fishing_along_the_beach-Negril_Jamaica.html - I picked up using Bonefish as the key word but there could well be others.
