Most definately. Although turn it down as you get screamers with a method feeder!

I use a methord feeder the same way i use a cage feeder, you dont need a bite alarm just wait for the wrap around, If your fishing for big carp where your sitting waiting for fish then bite alarms are the best idea.

But i fish places like white springs and its a case of casting every 90 - 120 seconds into little holes on the islands on the canals targetting smaller carp [match lake 1 - 2lb fish, old canal 7 - 8lb fish] Brilliant way to fish.

Where do you fish OH POLLACKS?

Certainly, usually used in conjunction with a quiver tip rod. As already said ignore the knocks ( sit on your hands ) & wait for the rod to wrap round or head into the lake!!!
