    alderney report

    just got back from alderney wasn't that good the weather was against us and we were restricted to one side of the island due to massive swells . but we caught black bream to 3lb and sole to over 2lb

    Congratulation on your catches though a 3lb black bream gives a good fight!

    It was a bad weekend weather wise but at least you could get out fishing. I saw a report in the paper yesterday about anglers being told to get off the breakwater in Alderney due to the swells by the lifeboat.

    Whilst you were in Alderney the specimen hunt in Guernsey was going on. I caught a small conger and thats all not even a little bite from something else! A bad weekend for me. The rest of the competition catches are in the attached report:

    nice one. it was me and my mates that were removed from the breakwater we were trying to get off but had to take cover on the inside once the swells started scary stuff

    Just in case anyone reading your post hasn't been to Alderney try the above links for the wash over the breakwater to see just how scary it must have been!

    Its amazing how fast the conditions can change down here. Glad you got off ok!

    Any plans to come again?

    Scary??? That is an understatement mate, glad everyone was Ok though!
