The River Thames! I think you might get more response if you ask a mod to move this thread over to the new coarse angling site.

If you can get over to the Northside over towards St Margarets,nr Hertford youll get good sport all day with a very good chance of an 20 lber. Take a roving approach and wander the River wobbling spratts and fishing a static popped up deadbait. I used to live round there corner and still fish there 3 or 4 times a year.

I come from that neck of the woods around Uxbridge area. I seem to remember a lake near Iver Heath called "Farloes" or something like it and there were some large Pike in there but that was back in the 60's so don't know what the situation is like now. There are masses of gravel pits all round that part of Buckinghamshire and Middlesex but I suppose now they have all been turned into "Carp ponds" If you do sort something out let us know how you get on?

Good shout. Farlows is a good winter water (not so many Carp Anglers).Went last January and had them to 18lb. Only caught on static bottom baits nailed hard on the bottom.
