Lure fishing in Philippines
Hi guys
A friend of mine is leaving Jersey to live in the Philippines and he is a keen plug fisherman here and was just wondering if anyone has heard of any good plugging to be had over there. Also are there any tackle shops
Thanks in advance, Mick

A friend of mine a keen fisherman stopped over in the philippines on his way to the mentawas, and found there were huge tackle shops with brand name equipment at ridiculously low prices,so he bought an extra bag and filled it with lures.
He trolled inshore around the reefs in the mentawas using a marauder type lure on wire caught alot of wahoo, spanish macys.
I know there is a great distance between the philippines and the mentawas, but same fish species i suspect.
But hay fill a bag with cheap lures.
Off to the mentawas myself for 2 weeks in may.(no shore fish left in portugal)

Hi,
Here is the most popular fishing forum in the Philippines, you can get a lot information even by only reading from the threads. The members are also very helpful and will certainly entertain queries.
Your friend can also join the group and maybe fish with the members to get the most out of angling in the Philippnes.

Goodluck.
