cormorants
hi just wondered if anybody saw the picture in the anglers mail of the cormorant taking a double figure pike and your thoughts on this

Gotta be a fabrication surely. Although I haven't seen the article.
How could a swimming bird with a 4" beak & no talons, attack, kill & then swallow a fish of over 10lb in weight, that would probably be 24" - 30" long.
How would it manage to fly away afterwards, surely the laws of physics & gravity define that this is an impossibility!!!!!
Jeez, I think a Sea Eagle would have it's handsful with a lively fish of 10lb PLUS !!!!!!!!!FISH SPECIES 2011.
Whiting. Cod. Coalie. Wolf fish. Torsk. Ling. Red fish.

if this is the same story as was in the sun then it wasnt a double figure pike. if it was then that was one ****in abnormally massive cormorant!!!
they have been known to try and take a trout at 7lb on my local stockie pond though.2008 species list: pollack, saithe, whiting, pike, dogfish, spurdog, thornback ray, pouting, perch, brown trout, roach, mackerel, blenny, ballan wrasse, cod, goldsinny wrasse

ok could be the same story customer showed me it at a glance i would have said double [not much of a piker ] still shocking pics though if true

i got to find a copy to have another look apparently it was captured by a birdwatcher who took a set of it devouring the pike

mm yeah just been looking at the ad on front page i can get my lenses made up into sunglasses & look cool too
