Sri Lanka
Hi all,
Does anyone know what the fishing is like in Ahungala, just south of Bentota?
Are there any good marks near the Heritance (Triton) Hotel?
Any reliable guides for river fishing etc or deep sea fishing boats that operate from here or nearby?
I've read a lot about Sri Lanka and I'm quite excited about fishing there. Just wondered if anyone had any experiences of that particular area?
Thanks in advance.

It's somewhat of a long shot but have you considered posting to the relevant http://www.tripadvisor.com forum? At least a couple of people have stayed at the hotel you mentioned and might, just might, be able to comment on the fishing. Here's that particular thread - http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic...a.html#5072059.

Not familiar with the specific location but I'd suggest that you check Google Earth for possible marks in the vicinity.
Sri Lanka has some very good shore fishing with barramundi, MJ's, decent GT's, blackfish and fingermark to be had off the beach. The shallow waters are very rich and the local boats land a suprising array of quality tuna, seerfish (Spannish Makerel) etc so I'll definatly be looking to book a boat on my next visit.
