fishing in gambia

What is fishing like this month,baits ect, beach or boat.

it should be good, i have only ever been in Febuary and always missed the best of it.
Use their shrimps ( they look the size of prawns to me ) for beach fishing and fish baits from the market.
if boat fishing they will supply the bait in the price, again fish baits and catch some live baits as well.

If you want to fish from a boat, go to Denton bridge where all the boats are and ask for Mark longster.
He is english and the best there, please give him my regaards if you meet him.

Always worth a dawn or dusk chuck into the surf on a rising tide near rocks with big surface plugs for barracuda and jacks. Cassava like a wobbled mullet. Use big trebles and wire trace always when fishing this way. Take some spare gear for the locals who will point you in the right direction, very skilled rough ground anglers. Rod rings, big trebles and wire always a good swap.

Catch alot of big ray, mainly stingers along with guitar fish on legered fish or squid bait from the shore.

hi mate just got back from gambia last week after fishing west african festival we had loads of captain fish up 15lbs loads of jacks at radio cid go to sanyang for captain fish guitar fish and rays we found it the most consistant where abouts you staying and dont forget to use wire bites the butter fish have got some fearsom teeth if you want any info ill give you my email

im going to gambia 2nd december till 17 can you give me info on what baits?, state of tides you caught most on?, and what time of day you found best any tips?

Just got back from holiday caught barracuda, small rays,butterfish. from the boat
shore fishing was poor only fished kombo beach better luck next time exl, holiday
tight lines.

I just got back beach fishing was also poor in the first week but we caught alot of Barracuda in the second week off the shore.

we also caught joto, butterfish, grouper, and rays off the beach

off the boats was a different story we caught barracuda upto 40lb and also a few snapper
