Insane golden dorado fishing
This might just be the most incredible freshwater fishing I have ever witnessed, fly and lure fishing for giant golden dorado in Argentina at La Zona. These fish are off the scale aggressive.
Check out a bunch of photos, there is a link to a web gallery I have created from the homepage of my blog

God those are some sexy fish!!
Some big ones there too - how big was the biggest fish you guys had? They look so aggressive - big wide down-turned mouth! Awesome colours as well.
Stonking photos as per usual Henry - some cracking action shots of fish jumping.
The water looks pretty dirty out there - how successful was chucking fluff for those guys? Or was it pretty difficult in those conditions?

Hi Henry. Interesting.... I had thought about that place myself but assumed it was a fly only destination and I am ashamed to say I am very much a novice when it comes to fly fishing. Clearly from the pics(stunning as always!) it is not! I am in trip planning mode for 2009 and considering a few new destinations. I think a PM is on it's way...

Hey, I never saw this general international forum before on here. I must be blind! Been searching the net for a more general overseas forum and it was here all along!
Lots of threads to read now and information to gather

And at the other end of Argentina
Stunning photographs of incredible fish! Many Thanks for posting that Henry.
As you mention in your article as well, a land of opportunities (and contrasts). Almost at the 'other end of the world', near Ushuaia - the 'gateway' to Antarcitica - one of our Club members has just returned from a trip to the Rio Grande, fishing for the big sea run Brownies. His best was 27 1/2lbs.
There's a brief report on this link - http://www.big-game-board.info/index...&threadID=1742.

Thanks guys - fly fishing works well there, biggest fish recorded so far on a fly is 55lbs and a lure is 65lbs. I heard that Roger Waters from Pink Flloyd was in there whenever they last toured in South America, and in one morning's fishing he had one of over 40lbs on the fly.
But we smashed them on lures - plenty fo 18lbs on the fly, but the guys were very keen on casting lures once they saw how I was doing with my poppers !! But yes, it is a serious fly fishing destination if you want it to be. There are serious numbers of fish there, with a good average size.
But it is also the most insane topwater and shallow water lure fishing I have ever done in freshwater, I landed dorado to 43lbs, everybody had a 39lb plus fish, a few over 40lbs were landed, some real monsters did us some harm on the rocks as well.
John - I will pick up your PM.
And that is some sea trout, wow !!! A seriious monster.
