Fishing Tackle - Non angling use !!
What use has anyone seen fishing tackle been put to apart from angling purposes?
Heard of a fella that uses his shakespeare box as a paint tray for his roller while painting his house.
Cutting your toenails with your mustad scizzors does not count.

I've heard of people using carbon rods as lightening conductors, not tried it myself though!

I`ve been told by a Met Officer that the tip sections of Nemesis are used in the Cairngorm high up to mount ice sensitive monitoring instruments. The sway of the tip in the high wind stops the ice forming apparently.

Whether this sounds believable or not, it is all true.
We have an International 130ST (the BIG gold one) with the British Antartic Expedition for use with weather balloons
We have a Senator reel with a Norwegian experimental team, ready to go to the ISS, to allow exercise in space - the reel providing constant resistance for use in a climbing wall experiment. Been in testing underwater for 2 years now.
We have a GTI reel with Qinetic pending their balloon altitude record - will be used for deploying a series of instruments attached to the base of the capsule of a circling "model plane"
Oh, and I undersand that there are a few reels out there actually been used for fishing !
