Which species do you wish to target? A tad early for some, yet dogfish and flounder are available in the S.W. just now. They are the bankers at this time of year, although things will improve greatly once we get a decent and prolonged spell of weather. Just now, dogfish in the Kirkcudbright area, and flounder at Carsethorn when conditions are favourable. Ragworm being top for dogs, and lug or rag for the flatties.
You would get a lot more advice by having the request in the Scottish forum.
