just if anyones interested
i know this is the wrong section to put this , but we finaly got to essthwait today ( we cancelled it last week due to flooding
)
we caught loads of trout , then late this afternoon a swan wandered across the front of me , my line started to go tight and the little 9ft tip rod started to be dragged in , well , after a ten minute battle ( and some loud expletives ) , i shouted mi mate sammy over to get the net , he too came out with some expletives
,
then i landed this little beauty on 5 lbs line ,, 8 s hook and double sweet corn
dont know the weight , but sammy reconed around 8 lbs ,
we had a great day , although the weather was realy bad at times , off to the pub now to brag
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

the wierd thing is , there was loads of pike anglers on the little boats , they were spinning / trolling / dead baiting , and they never had a touch all day lol Originally Posted by Wrassemaster
