Whats your Favourite Fly?
What is your favourite fly, and why?
Mine is a Silver Doctor as i used one to catch my first ever Sea Trout on Dartmoor when i was a nipper
, it weighed about half a pound but the memories of that fish will always stay with me.

mines one of my own patterns called the Brownie Midge

its tied on a size 26 hook
stripped ostrich herl body and the tinyist black hackle you can find.
use it for 90% of my still water fishing.
it works very well on stocked waters when there are fish rising, normally out fishes anything else and perfect for wild browns.
taken rainbows to 9lb 9oz and wild browns to 7lb 2oz
saltwater fly any form of skinny deciever.
IF IT SWIMS I'LL HAVE IT!!!

Soldier Palmer
I have caught brown, blue, rainbow & sea trout on this fly, it is an alrounder. For a cast of three flies professor, soldier palmer and black pennel could outfish any other three flies for brownies in my opinion

My favourite fly has to be the Connemara Black. An excellent fly for browns and rainbows on any stillwater in Wales.
It's a difficult decision just picking one fly so here a few of my other choice patterns.
Clan Chief
Bibio
Fiery Brown
