First try at fly-fishing
Hello
I'm a keen sea angler who has just had a go at small water fly-fishing and very nice it was to! I Usually put a catch report up for my sea fishing in the South Wales forum but as it was a fly - fishing trip I might just as well put a report up here.
I went to a small water fishery in Carmathenshire called Garnffrewd fished a dry fly known as an olive! had a cople of rises but no luck. I was then advised to tie a gold head nymph 4 foot below a little float type thing and bang! I was away. Caught several nice rainbows up to 3lbs and a nice brownie of around 3.5lbs. All fish bar 2 rainbows were returned.
If you want the full story visit my site below and check out the blog for pictures and the full story. I enjoyed the session alot more than I thought I would so I'm sure you will see me visiting the fly fishing forum again soon.2012 Sessions: 2 Marks: 2 Boat trips: 0 Blanks:0

Well done Dave.
Congratulations on catching your first trout on fly.
You'll soon outgrow those small fisheries and then start fishing for wild browns and maybe sewin.
If you need any help(and if I can help) don't be afraid to ask.
Bin
