Fly Fishing from a Yak or Not !!
I have been asking around about fishing on some of the big waters in trhe midlands, Severn Trent own most of them, the three best would be Vernwy and Clewydog, with Brenig owned by Welsh water.
The answer was a resounding and unmovable NO !! The only reason given was Severn Trent will not allow it.
So I chased down some people in ST, and finaly got to the right guys, and while they sympathised with my request they all came back with the same answer NO !! reason, " They are trying to bring all their tenants contracts in line, and have no intention on adding some thing new to the agenda "
No amount of reasoning or debate was accepted.
All I can suggest is keep asking, keep pushing.. we need to show people how we are seriouse and safe.A Bad Day Fishing still beats a good day at work...

In Scotland you can legally launch an UNPOWERED craft onto any body of fresh water where there is public access - but that doesn't mean you can fish from it. You can paddle, but you would have to find out about the fishing first.

At Vernwy in mid Wales, I can buy a bank fishing ticket ( tho there is no space on the bank, all tree line'd ) and you can launch or even hire a Kayak, but you can't put them together ???
